The New York Times (yes, THAT New York Times) published a great piece last week on the exploding costs of higher education in America. Leftist-Statists keep telling us how we need to expand educational spending. Feckless Republicans usually acquiesce to this foolishness because "it's for the children." But, where does the money go? We are not supposed to ask because "it's for the children."

It seems that higher education is focusing on style over substance. Student centers and recreation facilities seem to be the biggest drains as the American university spends at a rate that outstrips inflation by a country mile.

Tuition, on average, increased more rapidly over the decade at public institutions than it did at private ones. Average tuition rose 45 percent at public research universities and 36 percent at community colleges from 1998 to 2008, compared with about 21 percent at private research universities.

But the trend toward increased spending on nonacademic areas prevailed across the higher education spectrum, with public and private, elite and community colleges increasing expenditures more for student services than for instruction, the report said.

The student services category can include spending on career counseling and financial aid offices, but also on intramural athletics and student centers.

“This is the country-clubization of the American university,” said Richard K. Vedder, a professor at Ohio University who studies the economics of higher education. “A lot of it is for great athletic centers and spectacular student union buildings. In the zeal to get students, they are going after them on the basis of recreational amenities.”

On average, spending on instruction increased 22 percent over the decade at private research universities, about the same as tuition, but 36 percent for student services and 36 percent for institutional support, a category that includes general administration, legal services and public relations, the study said.

At public research universities, spending for student services rose 20 percent over the decade, compared with 10 percent for instruction.

Even at community colleges, with their far smaller budgets, spending on students services increased 9.5 percent, compared with 3.4 percent for instruction.

My guess would be that if one digs into the increases in the instructional area there would be a mother lode of dubious majors and frivolous courses. Of course, one way to increase student enrollment (and keep them from failing) is to increase the amount of useless tripe that can be served up as education.

The study also said that the recession that began in the last months of 2008 had dramatically changed the economics of higher education, probably forever.

“The funding models we’ve created in higher ed are not sustainable,” Ms. Wellman said. “We ran up spending in the ’90s and early 2000s to levels we can’t maintain, and this is true not only in the elite privates, but in many of the public institutions, too.”

Now, with private-college endowments battered and state legislatures slashing university budgets coast to coast, “policy makers as well as university presidents and boards must learn to be better stewards of tuition and taxpayer dollars,” she said.

Let me translate. Now, these clowns might actually have to act like responsible adults and do their job! Why is that we have to be in an economic crisis before government agencies (and that is what most colleges and universities are) are expected to act responsibly? Could it be that their irresponsibility is a big part of WHY we have bloated budgets, out-of-control entitlements, and sentimental sacred cows that cannot be touched?

Financial Reform For Thee But Not For Congress

It was bad enough that the recent "financial reform" package passed by Congressional Democrats (with the aid of a three RINOs in the Senate) was written by the two men most responsible for banking and investment crash. While, Bahney Fwank and Christopher Dodd (who both should be bunking with Bernie Madoff), thumped their chests about the good and virtuous federal government having its boot on the throat of the financial industry it turns out one group is still unregulated. Go ahead, give it a guess. Robin Hanson's post at Overcomingbias.com provides the answer: It's Congress!

While the US Congress has found time to “reform” finance by preventing movie futures, they have not found time to regulate insider trading by Congress.

Ordinary folks are banned from “insider trading.” For example, someone who noticed a factory fire via an airplane window was convicted of insider trading for trading on this info before it was publicly announced. But Garrett Jones tells me that US Congressional representatives, and all their staffers, have long been explicitly exempt from these rules – the SEC is not authorized to regulate Congress, and Congress has not chosen to regulate itself. So Congress-folk regularly profit by trading on inside info they gain from interactions with industry representatives. So much so that their average return on investment (ROI) is far larger than the public’s.

So, while innocent conversations or helpful information that is incidentally discovered can land a person in prison, the gang of reprobates in the Kremlin on the Potomac can craft legislation to build their personal portfolios and cannot be investigated much less punished. Congress can do much more to impact market forces through their abusive legislative hammer than any financial manager can do. The difference is a rogue investment banker or portfolio manager can pay a severe price for their evil doings. Barney Frank and Chris Dodd can crash the housing market and demand more power over the banking industry.

George Steinbrenner Dead At 80

New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner passed away this morning at age 80. Growing up in the 1970s as a hybrid Baltimore Orioles/Oakland A's fan, I was an avid Yankees hater. Of course, when I was first old enough to follow baseball the Yankees were in the midst of a long franchise drought. Bobby Murcer was supposed to be the new Mickey Mantle (an impossible pinnacle for poor Murcer, though he was a very good player). As soon as Steinbrenner bought the Yankees in 1973 it was clear the franchise of the Bambino, the Iron Horse, Joltin' Joe and the Mick had a new attitude and was poised for a return to prominence.

As a fan of two smaller-market teams, the dawn of free agency was a curse on the game. Steinbrenner was the most adept at using the new system to augment an improving team and make them contenders. Therefore, Steinbrenner became the symbol of the destruction of the old traditions that kept teams together for a longer time.

As I got older, I remained a Yankee hater. However, I came to appreciate George Steinbrenner. He was a winner. He had a responsibility to his fans and his organization to put his team in a position to win. He was successful beyond measure. Steinbrenner was one of the game's great characters. How many other current baseball owners are household names? Steinbrenner will someday be enshrined in Cooperstown. It will be a great day for both the Yankee fans and the Yankee haters.

Jesse Jackson: The Real Plantation Owner

Self-appointed spokesperson for Black America, Je$$e Jackson, has again fanned the flames of racism and intolerance with an ignorant diatribe against Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert in the wake of Gilbert's disparaging remarks toward his former employee LeBron James. Gilbert took some vicious swipes at LeBron after "King James" chose to take his game to South Beach to combine with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh for the Miami Heat. Gilbert was angry and it could be argued that he acted childishly and unprofessionally in his very personal comments toward James. Still, this is an owner of an NBA franchise who just lost the reigning two-time MVP who happened to be a native of the region.

Gilbert probably should have taken another day and given his comments more thought. However, the race hustler Je$$e Jackson has no such excuse for his comments directed toward Gilbert.

"He speaks as an owner of LeBron and not the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers," the reverend said in a release from his Chicago-based civil rights group, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition. "His feelings of betrayal personify a slave master mentality. He sees LeBron as a runaway slave. This is an owner employee relationship -- between business partners -- and LeBron honored his contract."

Well, there you have it. Gilbert was not angry because the face of his franchise left his team without a star and the city of Cleveland without the belief that an NBA title might be in their new future. Gilbert just likes to control young black men.

This is about basketball and business. Yet, to Je$$e Jackson everything is a race hustle. Every disagreement involving a white person and a black person is an opportunity to widen a racial divide that keeps people like himself relevant to a mass that can be convinced that a return to slavery is one election away.

The irony of Je$$e's jive talking is that it is HE (as well as Al Sharpton, Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, Maxine Waters, Tavis Smiley and others of that ilk) who are the modern-day plantation owners. They believe that their success as spiritual leaders, politicians or media figures sets them apart from the dumb masses. The rabble need not think for themselves. They are to be led by a race elite. Long ago, these "leaders" traded the interests of Black Americans for a seat at the Democrat party table. Make no mistake, the primary goal is to deliver Black votes to the Socialist-Statist party no matter how much their policies and principles have wreaked havoc on the Black family.

Evidence for this sick relationship can be seen in comments made by these and other Black "leaders" toward Black conservatives or any Black who expresses an opinion that deviates from the political and personal agenda of the Black Leftist elite. Clarence Thomas, Condoleeza Rice, Colin Powell (at least until they figured out he is also a Statist), J.C. Watts, Michael Steele, Judge Janice Rogers Brown and other Blacks who have rejected Leftist-Statist ideology are ridiculed as "Uncle Toms," "Mammies," and portrayed as ignorant puppets of whites.

Even Bill Cosby, who I would guess is largely a Democrat on most issues, was blasted by these self-appointed masters when he pointed out the negative impact of "hip-hop culture" on young Black men. Cosby spoke of personal responsibility, education, hard work, and presenting oneself in a positive way. He was blasted as a race traitor by the keepers of the keys.

Dan Gilbert's criticisms of LeBron James, fair or unfair, were born of the likelihood of professional and financial loss due to the free agent's departure. This was not a plantation owner seeking to keep the cotton picked. However, Je$$e Jackson's comments were just the latest barrage in his decades-old fight to keep Black Americans on the Democrat-Leftist-Socialist plantation. After all, if "King James" can be treated like a field hand all Blacks are in grave danger of similar treatment in their positions. It is time for Je$$e to heed his own words. Treat Blacks like men and women and allow them to think for themselves without muddying every issue with a racial fear mongering. Its time for Je$$e Jackson to realize he is not the slave master of Black America.

Now, Medicare and Medicaid are to be administered by one of America's foremost advocates of, you guessed it, health care rationing. That is just the tip of the iceberg:

Here are the TopTen things the Obama Administration didn’t want you to know about Berwick:

1. Donald Berwick, President Obama's nominee to administer Medicare and Medicare, has stated openly that he favors rationing healthcare “with our eyes open.” He wants the government to be able to decide how much healthcare you and your family are entitled to.

2. Berwick believes for that healthcare to be effective we must redistribute wealth. “Any healthcare funding plan that is just, equitable, civilized and humane must, must redistribute wealth from the richer among us to the poorer and the less fortunate. Excellent healthcare is by definition redistributional,” said Berwick.

3. Berwick is “in love” with Britain’s National Heath Service. He called the British system -- that many here in the U.S. refer to as “free for all, but worthless to many” -- a “seductress” about which he is “romantic.” In an op-ed published in the Washington Post in 1992 Berwick stated about Britain: “At last, a nation where healthcare is a right and carrying a semi-automatic machine gun is a privilege. Berwick also described a “utopian” future in which the government is in complete control of the healthcare system.

4. Berwick believes that ultrasounds in normal pregnancies and cesarean sections amount to an “assault” and wants to cut prenatal care programs. “As many as 80% of hysterectomies are scientifically unnecessary, so are more than a quarter of the drugs used for ear infections, most of the ultrasounds done in normal pregnancies, and half of cesarean sections in the United States. Isn’t this, with all do respect, some form of assault and battery, however unintended,” said Berwick

5. Berwick has repeatedly expressed his support for a single-payer healthcare system. Berwick has stated that if he could “wave a wand…* Healthcare is a common good – single payer, speaking and buying for the common good;* Healthcare is a human right – universality is a non-negotiable starting place;* Justice is a prerequisite to health –equity is a primary quality goal.”

6. Berwick will cut the number of cardiac centers, cancer-care centers, neonatal intensive-care units, and high-level trama centers.

7. Berwick doesn’t trust the free market. “Don't trust market forces,” instructs Berwick. Trust "leaders with plans."“When you rely on incentives, market forces, competition, and upward reporting for excellence you are playing with fire. I believe it is better to rely instead whenever possible on spirit, purpose, learning cooperation and joy in work.”

8. Berwick will cut preventative care in cases such as mammograms and ultrasounds. “One over demanding service is prevention; annual physicals, screening tests, and other measures that supposedly help catch disease early,” said Berwick in a 1998 Institute for Healthcare Improvement publication.

9. On “End of Life Care,” Berwick stated in a 1993 speech that “only a minority of patients, families, and clinicians support prolonged use of life-sustaining procedures and dramatic interventions in the terminal states of illness, yet substantial use of these procedures continue.”

10. Berwick, highlights race as a factor in healthcare reform. "It’s still true that race, minority race, especially being black in our country, is the strongest critique that we have about health,” said Berwick.

Yep, just your regular patriotic, liberty-loving American. In Obama's Amerika, the Donald Berwicks of the world exist to "transform" our lives, our values and our country. Yes, America, that is what Reverend Jeremiah Wright's protege' Barry Hussein Obama meant by "change." Had enough?

ABC Radio News Twists Roman Polanski Story

Today, Switzerland announced it will not extradite child rapist Roman Polanski to finally serve the prison term he plea-bargained for over 30 years ago. An ABC Radio news report on the subject stated that the Swiss decision was to prevent Polanski from facing charges in the child rape case. Sorry, ABC, that ship has sailed. Polanski raped a 13 year-old girl, faced overwhelming evidence and cut a deal that involved a prison term. The coward left the country rather complete the sentence to which he agreed.

The reporting of this story is baffling. It seems Big Media loves artistic creeps who rape children as long as they make anti-social films which attach life's mainstream. Polanski has made millions creating movies in Europe and that is considered a punishment. After all, its just child rape. It would be nice if the "compassionate Left" could muster the same anger for a violent pedophile that they do for law-abiding Americans who revere the Constitution.

No Match For Your Worker's W-2? No Problem!

A single employer filed 37,375 W-2 forms in tax year 2005 on which the Social Security Number and the name did not match. These "no-match" W-2 forms often -- but not always -- represent an illegal-alien worker fraudulently using someone else's Social Security number or a fake number.

An employer who files 37,375 no-match W-2s in one year is almost certainly employing many thousands of illegal aliens -- and knows it.

Yet there is no indication our federal government has taken any action to stop this employer from continuing to employ mass numbers of illegal
aliens.

The unemployment rate was 7.7 percent when President Barack Obama was inaugurated. It is now 9.5 percent.

The fact that a single employer filed 37,375 no-match W2s in 2005 was revealed in a virtually unnoticed Dec. 15, 2008, audit report from the inspector general of the Social Security Administration (SSA).

The purpose of this report was to examine the effectiveness of the so-called "Educational Correspondence" (EDCOR) that SSA sends out each year to all employers who file more than 10 no-match W-2s if those no-match W-2s also amount to at least one-half of one percent of the total number of W-2s filed by that employer.

These "no-match letters" list the Social Security numbers that were on the no-match W-2s the employer filed -- but only to a maximum of 500 Social Security numbers. Thus, if an employer files 37,375 bad W-2s, the letter it receives from SSA lists only the first 500 bad Social Security Numbers, not the other 36,875.

According to the inspector general, there were about 1,650 employers that filed more than 500 no-match W-2s in 2005. In fact, these 1,650 employers filed a total of about 2.6 million no-match W-2s in 2005, meaning they filed an average of 1,576 per employer.

The champion was the employer that filed 37,375.

To those unfamiliar with this issue, this might seem like an astounding number. If you care to double-check it, go to the Website of the inspector general of the Social Security Administration and look up the December 2008 audit report titled, "Effectiveness of Educational Correspondence to Employers." The number for the report is A-03-07-17105.

The acts described in this Social Security audit add up to felonies by both the employers and the workers who knowingly supply false information. Of course, we are told that illegal aliens (oops, I mean undocumented Democrats) are law-abiding citizens looking for an opportunity. This very act proves casts doubt on that rosy fallacy. However, the bigger question is why the federal leviathan that seeks to prevent border states from protecting their own citizens is unwilling to enforce its own laws? The criminality goes beyond the employers and employees. The government officials who possess this information and refuse to protect the interests of the American taxpayer are also guilty. Obama's NASA Chief: NASA Faces Mecca

Once you have fallen down the rabbit hole that is Obamaworld, the word "absurd" loses some of its bite. However, this nugget from NASA Administrator Charles Bolden makes it clear that the parade of clowns that comprise Team Barack will keep the idiocy coming. For those who remember that the American space program began as a national security function in the Cold War, it is frightening to contemplate the new priorities of NASA.

FOXNews reports the following from an interview Charles Bolden granted Al Jazeera:

Though international diplomacy would seem well outside NASA's orbit, Bolden said in an interview with Al Jazeera that strengthening those ties was among the top tasks President Obama assigned him. He said better interaction with the Muslim world would ultimately advance space travel.

"When I became the NASA administrator -- or before I became the NASA administrator -- he charged me with three things. One was he wanted me to help re-inspire children to want to get into science and math, he wanted me to expand our international relationships, and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science ... and math and engineering," Bolden said in the interview.

There you have it. Our space program is not about national security or scientific advancement NASA will now be spending billions with eyes on the true prize: reminding the Arab world that they invented Algebra. Pathetic!

Florida Moves Toward Nullification of ObamaCare

Florida will put ObamaCare to the voters this November. The Personal Liberty News Desk reports that Florida's legislature has voted to allow its citizens to send a message to Washington this November.

In an effort to blunt the impact of the sweeping healthcare reform passed by Congress and signed by President Obama late last month, the Florida legislature has passed an act that aims to protect the state’s healthcare system from interference.

Florida’s Healthcare Freedom Act (HJR 37/SJR 72), sponsored by Florida Representative Scott Plakon and Florida Senator Carey Baker, passed the House and Senate and will appear on the November ballot.

The legislation, which was inspired by the American Legislative Exchange Council’s Freedom of Choice in Healthcare Act, blocks a state or federal requirement for individuals to purchase health insurance.

"Protecting the individual freedom for people to make their own healthcare decisions is a priority," said ALEC health task force director Christie Herrera.

She added that "the amount of support from state legislators and policy makers for this legislation has been tremendous."

ALEC’s Freedom of Choice in Health Care Act has now been introduced or proposed in 42 states.

The Left has been slowly nudging the United States toward a combination of socialism and fascism for over a century. They have done so in small doses, usually masked as a heroic effort to avert some crisis. Liberty-loving Americans should have stood up more quickly, but they are standing now. The Obama administration mistook his carefully crafted electoral victory for an endorsement of a full-fledged move toward unquestioned statism. He was wrong.

Leftists can engage in all the name-calling and demonization they want. Bring it on! The stakes have never been higher. Individual liberty has never been more threatened by any American administration. The American people get it. The Statists are now experiencing the blow back. This November is shaping up as not only a major loss for the Obamacrats, but also a renewal of America's love of individual liberty and limited government.

Bob McDonnell's Strange Reaction To Arizona Immigration Measure

I'm really not sure what to make of Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell's comments about Arizona's controversial new anti-illegal immigration law. From Tertium Quids:

For those Virginians hoping the Commonwealth might adopt its own version of
Arizona's recent legislation designed to curb illegal immigration, Governor Bob McDonnell had some carefully chosen words on WTOP this past week.

I'm concerned about the whole idea of carrying papers and always having to be able to prove your citizenship. That brings up some shades of some other regimes that weren't necessarily helpful to democracy.

Leaving aside the fact that comparing one's political or ideological opponents (obliquely or not) to totalitarians is the most cliched of political tropes, the governor does raise an important question. What's the point of solving America's illegal immigration problem if it comes at the price of Gestapo-like squads of armed bureaucrats roaming the streets demanding "Papers, please" from every person in sight?

Of course, the problem with such an analogy is that Arizona's law only allows police to request proof of citizenship from people already involved in committing a crime.
But try explaining that to Al Sharpton. The governor went on to muse that

There's a divide, I'm finding, between Republicans who are ready to accept Rasmussen poll results as validation that the bill is a winner for them, and Republicans who see long-term damage in Arizona.

It's unclear what "long-term damage" Gov. McDonnell is referring to, unless he means Republican political fortunes in Arizona. In which case, he might be encouraged to note the law's effectiveness at helping illegal immigrants choose to accept the hospitality and public services of other states.

In other words, Arizona taxpayers are already seeing a benefit, and the law hasn't even gone into effect yet.

Meanwhile, Virginia taxpayers shell out $1.7 billion per year to provide for the needs of illegal immigrants here. Costs which our governor helps to cover by hiking taxes during a recession and cleverly calling them "fees."

Much like his temerity and failure to act with regard to repealing Virginia's corporate income tax, while unemployment sits at record levels and the budget drowns in red ink, Gov. McDonnell is once again so concerned with not rocking the boat that he can't be bothered to admit it may be sinking.

It is one thing to run as a Conservative and cultivate such a reputation in a heavily-Conservative state, especially one that has a serious case of buyer's remorse for its 2008 electoral vote for Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetoro Obama. It sounds as if McDonnell is channeling John McCain and Lindsey Graham in the land of the RINOs. Is McDonnell now trying to prove that he isn't TOO conservative? This bears monitoring.

In today's Washington Examiner, Byron York addressed the uproar over Arizona's common sense to do the job the federal government refuses to attempt: deal with illegal immigration. York's article manages to refute the Statist Left's primary charges without once referring to anyone as a Nazi. If only Democrats and their Fellow Travelers could argue a point in such fashion.

York reveals what the Left has conveniently ignored: the actual text of the law as signed by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer:

Has anyone actually read the law? Contrary to the talk, it is a reasonable, limited, carefully-crafted measure designed to help law enforcement deal with a serious problem in Arizona. Its authors anticipated criticism and went to great lengths to make sure it is constitutional and will hold up in court. It is the criticism of the law that is over the top, not the law itself.

The law requires police to check with federal authorities on a person's immigration status, if officers have stopped that person for some legitimate reason and come to suspect that he or she might be in the U.S. illegally. The heart of the law is this provision: "For any lawful contact made by a law enforcement official or a law enforcement agency…where reasonable suspicion exists that the person is an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States, a reasonable attempt shall be made, when practicable, to determine the immigration status of the person…"

This piece is an excellent analysis of the "controversial" attempt at enforcing existing law.

Despite what most knee-jerk Leftist-Liberal-Progressive-Democrats believe, most Conservatives don't have a problem with gays visiting each other in the hospital. This canard is always brought up to defend the notion of same-sex marriage or state-sponsored same-sex unions. This is really a strawman argument as most hospitals do not prevent same-sex partners from hospital visitation rights.

The problem with Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama's grand announcement on this policy is that the President does not have the authority to determine the internal policies of every hospital in the country. The implications go way beyond Ace spending time with Gary in the hospital. If Obama (or any president) can meddle in this, what is off limits? People are all too often short-sighted on these issues. If a decision supports their goal or desire they are all for it regardless of the process or the precedent. The precedent, in this case, sets the stage for any number of abusive intrusions into private affairs.

Women have plentiful opportunities to participate in college athletics. However, the hairy armpit, angry feminist crowd revels in the destruction of men's programs in order to achieve "equality."

Maybe the rules of the game need to be changed. Instead of allocating programs based on which bathroom the athletes use, let's make it truly fair: base it on which one brings more money into the university. If we go that route, women's intercollegiate athletics will go the route of the Mainstream Media's credibility (nonexistent). At most schools, men's football and basketball are the money makers. If, with the incredible opportunities afforded today, the feminist loons want to continue this nonsense let's make it all about the Benjamins!

Do I want to see women's sports programs eliminated? Of course not! What I want to do away with is the never-ending bleating of grievance politics. Whether its from some man-hating shrew in NOW or from a blowhard vice-president who gives less to charity than a homeless person, I'm over grievance politics. This is not about female opportunity. In fact, Goldman is not opposed to Obama’s Wall Street Bailout Bill at all. As a Goldman official told Politico Monday: “We’re not against regulation. We’re for regulation. We partner with regulators.” This echoes reporting done by The Huffington Post on loopholes in the banking bill. HuffPo was told by a financial services lobbyist: “Obtaining a carve-out isn’t rocket science. Just give Chairman Dodd (D-CT) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY) a ****load of money.” And loads of money is what Wall Street has been giving to the authors of the Wall Street Bailout Bill. The Wall Street banker at the center of Goldman’s SEC fraud complaint recently solicited
money from his banker friends for Sen. Schumer describing him as “one of the few members of Congress that has consistently supported the hedge fund industry.”

Sens. Dodd and Schumer are not the only ones colluding with bankers to profit from American taxpayers. Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) scored $37,000 from a January fundraiser that included Goldman executives. And The Washington Examiner has detailed that not only did President Barack Obama receive seven times as much money from Goldman employees as President Bush did from Enron employees, but then-candidate Obama’s $950,000 2008 total from Goldman executives and employees is the most a politician has raised from a single company since campaign finance reform. It’s also more than the combined Goldman haul of every Republican running for president, Senate and the House

While the speech made many references to the Clinton administration (and to Bush 41), it could very well be about the political scene circa 2010.

Freedom is not empowerment. Empowerment is what the Serbs have in Bosnia. Anybody can grab a gun and be empowered. It's not entitlement. An entitlement is what people on welfare get, and how free are they? It's not an endlessly expanding list of rights -- the "right" to education, the "right" to health care, the "right" to food and housing. That's not freedom, that's dependency. The Clinton administration is going to decrease government spending by increasing the amount of money we give to the government to spend.

Health care is too expensive, so the Clinton administration is putting a high-powered corporate lawyer in charge of making it cheaper. (This is what I always do when I want to spend less money -- hire a lawyer from Yale.) If you think health care is expensive now, wait until you see what it costs when it's free.

The Clinton administration is putting together a program so that college graduates can work to pay off their school tuition. As if this were some genius idea. It's called getting a job. Most folks do that when they get out of college, unless, of course, they happen to become governor of Arkansas.

And the Clinton administration launched an attack on people in Texas because those people were religious nuts with guns. Hell, this country was founded by religious nuts with guns. Who does Bill Clinton think stepped ashore on Plymouth Rock? Peace Corps volunteers? Or maybe the people in Texas were attacked because of child abuse. But, if child abuse was the issue, why didn't Janet Reno tear-gas Woody Allen?

You know, if government were a product, selling it would be illegal.

Government is a health hazard. Governments have killed many more people than cigarettes or unbuckled seat belts ever have.

Government contains impure ingredients -- as anybody who's looked at Congress can tell you.

On the basis of Bill Clinton's 1992 campaign promises, I think we can say government practices deceptive advertising.

And the merest glance at the federal budget is enough to convict the government of perjury, extortion, and fraud.

There, ladies and gentlemen, you have the Cato Institute's program in a nutshell: government should be against the law.

Term limits aren't enough. We need jail.

Yep, that is how San Francisco's police chief celebrates decreased crime numbers over the first three months of 2010. This from Nanette Asimov in The San Francisco Chronicle:

The bottom line at Chief George Gascon's news conference today was that crime dropped 13 percent in the first quarter of this year compared with last year.

But turn off the slide projector and look at the rapes, robberies and homicides not featured on the big screen. All were higher in the first three months of 2010 than during the same time last year.

Rape was up 33 percent, from 33 incidents last year to 44 this year. Robbery was up 13 percent, from 744 to 844. Homicides were up 9 percent, from 11 to 12.

"We're obviously concerned about it," Gascon said of violent crimes. The increase in rapes could be due to increased reporting, he said. "We don't know."

Yeah, Chief Gascon, it could just be that those pesky women are reporting more rapes this year instead of staying silent. That kind of thing can skew one's statistics. Somehow, I don't think anyone is going to mistake San Francisco for the Garden of Eden.

So far, the only violence committed was by Leftist protesters against an aide of Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal along with her boyfriend.

Allee Bautsch, 25, a top fundraiser for Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, and her boyfriend, Joe Brown, 29, were verbally assailed as they left the event, followed to their car then savagely beaten.

Bautsch’s leg was “stomped” by her assailants causing breaks in four places that required surgery, a steel rod and seven screws to reconstruct. Brown suffered a broken jaw and nose, a brain concussion and black eye.

The assailants were described as five Caucasian males, the main assailant looking “dirty” (but not homeless), with dark red ponytail and a beard.

Patriotic Americans protesting excessive government are labeled dangerous. Beating two people to the point they have to be hospitalized is a non-story. Here's the latest on the developing story from Human Events.

The Mainstream Media is complicit in the attack on Allee Bautsch and Joe Brown and they will be partly liable for any violence that is committed against Tea Party Patriots or any other Conservative. The Lap Dog Media blames Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Sean Hannity and others for "potential violence." However, these people go out of their way to DISCOURAGE such behavior while encouraging citizen activism. They are never asked to apologize and are never accused of inciting violence. Barack Obama is telling teenagers and college students, who are now suffering through a 26% unemployment rate, that they are not allowed to volunteer their time in the free market in exchange for acquiring valuable and relevant job skills that might, just might, get them off the unemployment line — and that ignores the ability to make valuable connections through networking in the workplace and build relationships for future careers and opportunities. The lost opportunity just of the loss of networking and relationship building is overwhelming and will put some college students who did not go to the right school or belong to the right fraternity or sorority or come from the right town at a serious, serious disadvantage.

“If … you want to pursue an internship with a for-profit employer, there aren’t going to be many circumstances where you can have an internship and not be paid and still be in compliance with the law,” the Labor Department’s Nancy J. Leppink tells the New York Times.

The Times also quotes Trudy Steinfeld, director of New York University’s Office of Career Services, regarding opportunities for unpaid internships. “A few famous banks have called and said, ‘We’d like to do this,’ said Ms. Steinfeld. “I said, ‘No way. You will not list on this campus.’” To be fair, she doesn’t want a Labor Department enforcer knocking on her door next week. But we wonder what NYU students trying to get their feet in the doors of financial firms think about Ms. Steinfeld rejecting opportunities on their behalf.

How all of this helps young people who are trying to develop marketable skills is a mystery.

Every day it becomes harder to tell if Obama is simply an overmatched imbecile or the most dangerous radical to ever occupy the White House. The results are the same: a great country's institutions and freedoms reduced to rubble. If you aren't involved, get there. If you have been involved, don't get tired--there is a long fight ahead to slow the long march.

"What we learned from Oklahoma City is not that we should gag each other or that
we should reduce our passion for the positions we hold - but that the words we use really do matter, because there's this vast echo chamber, and they go across space and they fall on the serious and the delirious alike. They fall on the connected and the unhinged alike," he said.

My question to Monica Lewinsky's ex-boyfriend is this: why not make such statements when Leftist-Statist-Progressive-Democrats are calling Conservatives racists, sexist, homophobes, murders, Klansmen, thugs, etc.? Why is it that everyday Americans angry about a government that has rejected the Constitution are to be feared, but Black Panthers wielding weapons outside a voting precinct are not a big deal?

Clinton argued that the Boston Tea Party was in response to taxation without representation. The current protesters, he said, are challenging taxation by elected officials, and the demonstrators have the power to vote them out of office.

Our government is a constitutional republic NOT a democracy. If citizens elect a congressman to go on a looting raid against the rest of the country, his mere election does not give the act legitimacy. Yet, there they were, a gang of lying reprobates, voting for an ObamaCare bill that did not prohibit federal funding for infanticide.

Executive orders can be issued to direct the work of federal agencies. You see, they say whatever is convenient for a particular constituency.

A friend of mine told me about a meeting he had with Goldman Sachs’ CEO in Atlanta at the beginning of the year. Someone asked the CEO what he thought of the new Obama administration. The CEO admitted he voted for Obama, but then said how stunned he was at lack of advisors surrounding Obama who had come from the private sector.
In fact, a new study shows Obama has fewer advisors who’ve made a living in the private sector than any other American President in the last 108 years — since the turn of the 20th century when the business of America became business.
This is not to say that the Chief Executive should have private sector experience. And this is not to say that the Chief Executive should employ only people from the
private sector. But it is to say that we should not trust a Chief Executive to know how to fix the private sector or “create competition” in health care when there is hardly a person near him who knows anything about job creation.
That is the key. More Americans than every before are on government handouts and the Democrats intend to take over 1/6th of the American economy — health care. This is an administration that has no understanding of and no commitment to the free market and the private sector, both of which are, at best, academic studies to ninety percent of Obama’s top advisors.
The Republican Party should be able to exploit this issue. The American people, at the end of the day, believe in, work in, and want to support the private sector. Contrary to the Obama and New York Times spin that there is no stigma attached to food stamps, the American people do not want to be dependent on the government for their food, health care, or income.
But that is Obama’s solution. To every problem, Obama offers government. He can offer no other because he has surrounded himself with no job creators, no producers, no captains of industry, and no free market champions. That’s not the change the American people were hoping for.

This played out with Obama's so-called "jobs summit" which was practically devoid of individuals who have ever created a job. There were plenty of academics and union bosses, but few entrepreneurs or anyone else who has ever had to meet a payroll. Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama is brilliant at campaigning and using the fawning Big Media to his advantage. But, this guy has a zero economic IQ. Of course, union bosses may not know how to create jobs, but they sure know how to write checks to the Democrat National Committee and Marxist politicians.

Increasingly, the Pilgrims' lessons of hard-scrabble survival and adaptation to new conditions have given way to a New Age diversity-driven communal living fantasy. The Pilgrims were able to give thanks because they abandoned Utopian visions for reality driven toil. If you have never read Richard J. Maybury's "The Great Thanksgiving Hoax" , this is the perfect time to learn what is left out of the typical history curriculum.

The official story has the pilgrims boarding the Mayflower, coming to America and establishing the Plymouth colony in the winter of 1620-21. This first winter is hard, and half the colonists die. But the survivors are hard working and tenacious, and they learn new farming techniques from the Indians. The harvest of 1621 is bountiful. The Pilgrims hold a celebration, and give thanks to God. They are grateful for the wonderful new abundant land He has given them.

The official story then has the Pilgrims living more or less happily ever after, each year repeating the first Thanksgiving. Other early colonies also have hard times at first, but they soon prosper and adopt the annual tradition of giving thanks for this prosperous new land called America.

The problem with this official story is that the harvest of 1621 was not bountiful, nor were the colonists hardworking or tenacious. 1621 was a famine year and many of the colonists were lazy thieves.

In his 'History of Plymouth Plantation,' the governor of the colony, William Bradford, reported that the colonists went hungry for years, because they refused to work in the fields. They preferred instead to steal food. He says the colony was riddled with
"corruption," and with "confusion and discontent." The crops were small because "much was stolen both by night and day, before it became scarce eatable."

Concerned Women For America Miss The Health Care Point

Last night I received a phone call from Concerned Women for America. This is an organization that I strongly support, so I was shocked that I found myself lecturing the solicitor about the current ObamaCare legislation in the Senate.

The CWFA is, of course, making phone calls to solicit money for their lobbying efforts. Fine. Such organizations need cash to function and they call those who they believe agree with their work. Usually, I am on board with the CWFA.

The entire focus of the caller's script was on keeping abortion funding out the legislative plans to conduct a hostile takeover of the American health care industry. The CWFA recently posted an article in opposition to certain provisions in the House bill. The CWFA is unwittingly making the same mistake that Conservatives have been making for decades.

Simply put, its the liberty, stupid! If Conservatives focus on debating the rationale or legitimacy of certain elements of healthcare nationalization, they are missing the big picture. The whole notion is an assault on the individual liberty of the America people. Debating specific passages of an Orwellian 2,000-page legislative assault on the American people is asinine.

Take out abortion funding. Take out penalties for those who refuse to purchase insurance. Take out the government's ability to decide what procedures can be covered (FYI, they already do this in our so-called "free market"). We would still have a government-run health care system that will destroy individual freedom and saddle our children and grandchildren with stifling debt while eviscerating the world's best healthcare system.

It is fine to make people aware of some of the worst measures in the bill if it helps stir the blood to fight back against the Kremlin on the Potomac. However, it must be made clear to our elected officials that we are protecting liberty. They have crossed the Rubicon and we need to make sure they are stopped before further encroachments on our freedoms occur. Our future depends on it.

Conservative talk radio is at its best when it is clever, smart, informative and dressed with zesty helping of satire. That is why Rush Limbaugh is Public Enemy #1 to Statist-Marxist-Democrats. No one does it better. Mark Levin is a great legal mind who guts Leftist legal doctrine like Sarah Palin field dressing an elk. Neal Boortz, the Talkmaster, infuriates me at times with some of his social views, but he represents Libertarianism like no other. Sirius morning superstar Mike Church has an incredible grasp of the Founding Fathers and the Constitution. In fact, Church's commentaries on the Declaration of Independence and the Constitutional Convention along with other issues related to the Founding should be studied by the rest of the talk radio upper strata so that they might build a stronger foundation for their political ideology. Of course, I think at least one of the heavyweights does listen to Church, though only to steal gimmicks and not to educate himself.

Yesterday, Sean Hannity went on a long diatribe about the earth-shattering and inventive concepts that are present on his website and how the rest of talk radio copies his intellectual property. Of course, it was OK since he takes it as flattery. He went on...and on...and on. That, by the way, is his most noticeable trait: the beating of a dead horse.

As Hannity droned on about his superior and "original" ideas, my mind drifted back to the summer. Soon after President Obama (and other Democrat "leaders") referred to Conservatives as "an angry mob", Mike Church began asking his listeners to make up a mob name when they called in to the show. It was funny and the callers came up with some creative ideas. Several days later, out of the blue, Sean Hannity begins running the same bit. He was so proud of comedy invention, you would think Seano Marx had just created the "knock, knock" joke. Truth was, he was just stealing a bit from another talk show host. I guess Church is what Hannity and Levin refer to as one of the "back benchers." Note to Sean: Nancy Pelosi will wear a "What Would Reagan Do" t-shirt before Mike Church will need to steal show ideas from you.

Mark Levin also devolves into the attacks on other hosts and that is unfortunate. He has been less involved in that nonsense since the success of his marvelous book, "Liberty and Tyranny." Hopefully, he realizes that he just has to do his thing and listeners will know they are hearing a keen legal mind. He doesn't need to be in a mud fight with Michael Savage. Savage has his niche and Levin has his. While he still refers to the "back benchers" he usually makes a quick comment and moves on. Hopefully, Levin will realize his work stands on its merit and that jabs at other talk show hosts are useless diversions (unless the comments are about specific comments that don't advance the cause).

When Hannity starts tooting his own horn and attacking others, it can last hours (ok, it may only seem that long). Hannity's work with the Freedom Concerts deserves praise. He does champion Conservatism over Republicanism in most cases. His radio and TV presence give him a large audience. Why the anger? Look, Sean, do your thing and don't assume you invented every talk radio bit or website feature in the marketplace. It is obvious you are not above cannibalizing others' ideas. Let's remember, the enemies are Marxist Democrats and RINO's, not competing talk show hosts.

Mary Landrieu Believes There Is A Difference Between Call Girls and Streetwalkers

Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu is one of those phony "conservative Democrats" who always pretends to be waffling between protecting liberty and growing the state. Most recently she has pretended to be against the Statist Democrats' desire to nationalize the American health care industry. However, she agreed to vote "yes" to the first procedural hurdle to open Senate debate on the Obama Care assault on the American people. And it only cost taxpayers $100 million. Ooops, make that $300 million. Who says? Landrieu herself, as reported on Newsbusters:

In explaining the latest Hurricane Katrina extortion, Landrieu boasted:

"Our state is still as poor as it was, if not poorer. I am not going to be defensive about asking for help in this situation and it is not a $100 million fix, it is a $300 million fix."

But, she denied that $100 million provision was the reason she had decided to vote in favor of cloture.

"I'm proud to have asked for it," Landrieu said. "I'm proud to have fought for it and I will continue to. That is not the reason I am moving to debate. The reason I am moving to the debate, as expressed - in this statement and in hundreds of statements and speeches I've given over the last year or two on this subject, which should be self-explanatory."

Well, there you go. Four years ago. a natural disaster hit the nation's most corrupt and mismanaged state, therefore all Americans must sacrifice their individual liberty. Landrieu gets to dribble $300 million of pork on the Pelican State while the rest of America gets health care treatment at the whim of Tom Daschle and Ezekiel Emmanuel.

Senator Landrieu seems to believe that selling your integrity for $300 million is somehow more noble than giving it away on the cheap. She can call herself a call girl for the people if she likes. In reality, she is just another low rent streetwalker willing to sell something more precious than her body: the individual liberty of the American people. Hopefully, the citizens of Louisiana are not as cheap in their convictions as is Mary Landrieu.

Both Senators Mark Warner and Jim Webb intend to vote "yes" on the cloture motion tomorrow evening that will bring Sen. Reid's health insurance bill to the floor for debate.

Warner makes it clear he's looking for a handout (though probably not in Sen. Landrieu's league...but you never know), while Sen. Webb's office could only muster a spokesbeing, who says he'll vote "yes," too.

So...the debate will come, the taxpayers' checkbook will be opened wide and votes will be traded like shiny marbles on the Senate floor. It's just grand.

Hopefully, Virginians have caught on to the sad fact that Mark Warner and Jim Webb are not old-style "conservative Democrats." In fact, you have a better chance finding a Yeti than finding a "conservative Democrat" in the U.S. Senate. Warner and Webb are both dutiful stooges who answer to the Statist Democrat leadership and Democrat special interests.

Warner and Webb, like most politicians, assume the dumb masses have short memories and will forget all about their involvement in the Kremlin on the Potomac's takeover of the American health care system. Neither is up for reelection in 2010. Webb faces the voters in 2012 and Warner in 2014. Keep these traitorous actions filed away and when these Quislings ask to have their membership in Klub Kongress renewed send them to the unemployment line.

Palin-Palooza Heading For Roanoke; The Haters Snark Away

Former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin will sign her new book "Going Rogue: An American Life" at the Valley View Mall Barnes and Noble bookstore this Sunday at 10:00 am. If the early stops are any indication, expect a huge crowd for Palin's appearance. Palin is the hottest political superstar in America and she will inspire a long line of early risers to be in place waiting when wrist bands at handed out at 6:00am to insure a place in the autograph line.

Of course, not everyone loves Sarah Palin. Friday's Roanoke Times featured an article about the highly-anticipated event and also included a list of "do's and dont's" that Barnes and Noble has been handing out to folks who purchase the Palin book. It is certainly not uncommon for such events to have certain requirements. For instance, Barnes and Noble requires that you purchase the book at their store (or from their online store) for the privilege of getting it signed. Hardly unusual. A wristband system will be used to place a finite number on the autograph line. In addition, there are other rules in place to facilitate a smooth and fast-moving line.

However, The Roanoke Times, being a Leftist rag, placed a snarky "explanation" of the rules in the middle of the page containing the continuation of the main story while placing the "just the facts" version of the rules in the bottom right corner of the page. The oh-so-clever Dan Casey dedicated his junior high wit to an "analysis" of the rules. For example,

* Line passes/wristbands will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 6 a.m. Sunday. Translation: Get your butt out of bed early if you want to see Sarah.

* You must be present in order to get a line pass/wristband. Translation: You can't get one the day before, so skip church!

* You must present your ORIGINAL Barnes & Nobel or bn.com receipt for "Going Rogue" in order to get a line pass/wristband. Translation: Tickets for Sarah's appearance are $17 plus change (and tax). You cannot bring your receipt from Walmart, where the book costs $14.50. So don't even try, cheapskates!

Do any of those requirements seem shocking? Sounds like the way most high-traffic events are managed.

* One line pass/wristband will be issued per person. Translation: If you've purchased two copies and a friend wants to come along, make sure you get separate receipts.

* A maximum of two copies of "Going Rogue" will be signed per person. Translation: Please buy more, but don't expect much, OK? Her hands will already be aching from the Rochester, N.Y., signing Saturday night.

* No memorabilia will be signed -- only the book, "Going Rogue." Translation: This is to sell books, you dummy. She will not sign the caribou sausage you brought home from that Alaska cruise but are afraid to eat, so don't even ask.

These are the types of limits that are common for an event that will draw a large and eager crowd. After all, this book was a best-seller long before it was released and Sarah Palin is a very popular lady. Maybe Dan Casey should try to arrange a Nancy Pelosi book signing (yes, she released a book earlier this year--I think it is in the top 80,000 on Amazon.com). If the Speakerette holds a book signing the crowd will be so sparse that San Fran Nan will likely be able to join you at Panera Bread for breakfast.

Leftist clowns will continue to attack Palin, whether out of jealousy, ignorance or fear. She may or may not be presidential material, but she does represent the values and ideals that embody America at its best. Those values are alien to Statist Leftists. Real America gets Sarah Palin.

Pelosi and Obama Have Contempt For the Constitution...And You

Dr. Walter E. Williams is one of America's greatest thinkers, but his column "Constitutional Contempt" is not a deeply thought opinion piece. Just horrifyingly accurate! Dr. Williams' premise is a very obvious point that, sadly, not enough Americans seem to get.

At Speaker Nancy Pelosi's Oct. 29th press conference, a CNS News reporter asked, "Madam Speaker, where specifically does the Constitution grant Congress the authority to enact an individual health insurance mandate?" Speaker Pelosi responded, "Are you serious? Are you serious?" The reporter said, "Yes, yes, I am." Not responding further, Pelosi shook her head and took a question from another reporter. Later on, Pelosi's press spokesman Nadeam Elshami told CNSNews.com about its question regarding constitutional authority mandating that individual Americans buy health insurance. "You can put this on the record. That is not a serious question. That is not a serious question."

Suppose Congress was debating a mandate outlawing tea-party-type protests and other large gatherings criticizing Congress. A news reporter asks Nancy Pelosi where specifically does the Constitution grant Congress the authority to outlaw peaceable assembly. How would you feel if she answered, "Are you serious? Are you serious?" and ignored the question. And what if, later on, someone from her office sent you a press release, as was sent to CNS News, saying that Congress has "broad power to regulate activities that have an effect on interstate commerce," pointing out that demonstrations cause traffic jams and therefore interferes with interstate commerce?

Speaker Pelosi's constitutional contempt, perhaps ignorance, is representative of the majority of members of both the House and the Senate. Their comfort in that ignorance and constitutional contempt, and how readily they articulate it, should be worrisome for every single American. It's not a matter of whether you are for or against Congress' health care proposals. It's not a matter of whether you're liberal or conservative, black or white, male or female, Democrat or Republican or member of any other group. It's a matter of whether we are going to remain a relatively free people or permit the insidious encroachment on our liberties to continue.

Where in the U.S. Constitution does it authorize Congress to force Americans to buy health insurance? If Congress gets away with forcing us to buy health insurance,
down the line, what else will they force us to buy; or do you naively think they will stop with health insurance? We shouldn't think that the cure to Congress' unconstitutional heavy-handedness will end if we only elect Republicans. Republicans have demonstrated nearly as much constitutional contempt as have Democrats. The major difference is the significant escalation of that contempt under today's Democratically controlled Congress and White House with the massive increase in spending, their proposed legislation and the appointment of tyrannical czars to control our lives. It's a safe bet that if and when Republicans take over the Congress and White House, they will not give up the massive increase in control over our lives won by the Democrats.

It isn't just that the Radical Left of the Democrat party believes in jamming statism down America's throat. The Radical Left controls the Democrat party and a Radical Leftist is President of the United States. So-called moderate Democrats or "blue dogs" are much closer to the Statists than they are to the Constitution. Ditto the Republican party. If allowed, many Republicans will pursue the siren song of the Statist's utopian dreams, but in "conservative" doses.

If Americans want to keep their liberty, they will begin to fight political battles from that standpoint. Death panels and publicly-financed abortions are sideshows and diversions from the real threat. Our constitutional republic and the protections provided by such a government are under siege. I don't care if the health care bill is 2,000 pages or two sentences. If the result is diminished freedom, the rest is mere detail.

President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama has an ego that would shame Narcissus. My guess is Obama's iPod is filled with Obama speeches. The ego that ate liberty reached a new level of self-congratulation on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. From Jeff Jacoby in the Boston Globe:

PRESIDENT OBAMA was too busy to attend the celebrations in Germany this week marking the fall of the Berlin Wall 20 years ago. But he did appear by video, delivering a few brief and bloodless remarks about how the wall was “a painful barrier between family and friends’’ that symbolized “a system that denied people the freedoms that should be the right of every human being.’’ He referred to “tyranny,’’ but never identified the tyrants - he never uttered the words “Soviet Union’’ or “communism,’’ for example. He said nothing about the men and women who died trying to cross the wall. Nor did he mention Harry Truman or Ronald Reagan - or even Mikhail Gorbachev.

He did, however, talk about Barack Obama.

“Few would have foreseen,’’ declared the president, “that a united Germany would be led by a woman from [the former East German state of] Brandenburg or that their American ally would be led by a man of African descent. But human destiny is what human beings make of it.’’

All this time I thought the fall of the Berlin Wall was a symbol of man's desire for freedom and the culmination of a decades-long fight against Soviet domination of eastern Europe. It was the result of American Presidents like Truman, Kennedy, and Reagan drawing lines in the sand against Moscow's repressive regime. The courageous efforts of Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, Pope John Paul II, Lech Walesa and others who loved liberty took form in the sledgehammers wielded by young Germans.

Now I know the truth: the fall of the Berlin Wall was just another blip on the radar signaling the coming of The One. Have you no decency, sir?

Ralph Peters' "Fort Hood's 9/11" And The Mounting Evidence That A Terrorist Attack Took Place

Ralph Peters wrote a strong piece in the New York Post that makes clear that the tragedy at Fort Hood was a terrorist attack.

This was a terrorist act. When an extremist plans and executes a murderous plot against our unarmed soldiers to protest our efforts to counter Islamist fanatics, it’s an act of terror. Period.

When the terrorist posts anti-American hate-speech on the Web; apparently praises suicide bombers and uses his own name; loudly criticizes US policies; argues (as a psychiatrist, no less) with his military patients over the worth of their sacrifices; refuses, in the name of Islam, to be photographed with female colleagues; lists his nationality as "Palestinian" in a Muslim spouse-matching program, and parades around central Texas in a fundamentalist playsuit — well, it only seems fair to call this terrorist an "Islamist terrorist."

But the president won’t. Despite his promise to get to all the facts. Because there’s no such thing as "Islamist terrorism" in ObamaWorld.

And the Army won’t. Because its senior leaders are so sick with political correctness that pandering to America-haters is safer than calling terrorism "terrorism."

And the media won’t. Because they have more interest in the shooter than in our troops — despite their crocodile tears.

It has been truly disgraceful watching and listening while excuses and justifications are made for this piece of human refuse, Nadal Malik Hasan. This vile subhuman has made it clear he is an enemy of the United States while drawing a paycheck from its taxpayers and maintaining employment despite an ever-growing list of "red flags" that should have resulted in this murderer's expulsion from the military. Some of his actions prior to the killings were deserving of criminal investigation.

Political correctness is an epidemic that kills. Hasan maintained his position because no one wanted to be seen as an anti-Muslim bigot. Speaking for myself, I would much rather be called a bigot while protecting the lives of fellow Americans than kick the can down the road in the name of diversity and allow the "diverse" killer to murder American soldiers. Those who knew of Hasan's vitriol towards America and heard his incendiary language while staying silent should be held responsible for these deaths.

It seems that every hour more information is coming to light. Hasan was involved with a radical cleric who is tied to al Qaeda and U.S. intelligence officials knew about it.

Major Hasan’s 10 to 20 messages to Anwar al-Awlaki, once a spiritual leader at a mosque in suburban Virginia where Major Hasan worshiped, indicate that the troubled military psychiatrist came to the attention of the authorities long before last Thursday’s shooting rampage at Fort Hood, but that the authorities left him in his post.

Should the United States have inducted Nazis into the World War II marines? Maybe we should have allowed Viet Cong to camp out at Fort Bragg.

The mealy-mouthed reaction to Hasan's lunatic rantings begs the question, "how many more Islamist would-be murderers are in the U.S. military?" If Muslim soldiers are involved with radical mosques and openly endorsing jihad against the American infidels they should be removed or imprisoned. I doubt that patriotic Muslims would disagree with such a policy. They are as endangered by the semi-human extremists as are we "infidels."

Folks, it ain't over. The fat lady ain't even warming up, but the Statist/Marxist/Progressive Democrats have moved an inch closer to the totalitarianism that their leadership desires. The passage of the Pelosi version of ObamaCare should wake up Americans to this violent attack on individual liberty.

Now, two things must happen. First, intensify the fight against ObamaCare in the Senate. There are already nervous Democrats in the Senate and it is highly unlikely Harry Reid can muster 60 votes to prevent a filibuster. Can 10 Democrats be convinced to uphold their oath of office? Maybe. However, forcing Harry Reid to employ procedural shenanigans to pass this monstrosity will add to the pressure on Dems in 2010. Call your Senators. Email your Senators. Even if the Senate version passes, it is different than the House bill. A conference bill will still have to be put together, meaning that House members will have to cast another vote. That means Real American has more time to makes its voices heard.

Secondly, keep an eye on November, 2010. Democrats who voted to strip American citizens of individual liberty in health care matters and who risk destroying jobs and economic growth in order to carry out a Marxist ideology must pay a price at the ballot box. The Leftist health care and cap-and-trade bills are attacks on the Constitution and the American people. The perps must pay with the loss of their jobs.

This is no time to rest in Real America. The fight is only beginning. Our future and our children's futures depend on our willingness to fight the traitors and tyrants in our midst.

Arizona Congressman John Shadegg Offers Common Sense Health Care Reform Alternatives

Democrats seem to believe that a lie becomes a fact if repeated often enough. The lie that has been at the heart of the Leftist Democrats' defense of their hostile takeover of the American health care system goes something like this: "Well, if Republicans had any ideas we would listen, but they just want the status quo." President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama has repeated the Big Lie ad nauseum as he plots his unconstitutional usurpation.

Today's Wall Street Journal features an op-ed by Arizona congressman John Shadegg is which the dedicated defender of the Constitution clearly refutes the Big Lie. First, Shadegg defines the problem:

It is true that many Americans cannot find affordable health coverage. However, it is the government-imposed barriers that make coverage expensive, especially for the working poor in America. Fixing these problems would cost the taxpayer absolutely nothing, yet congressional Democrats refuse to consider these no-cost solutions.

The already high cost of insurance is often increased by excessive state regulations. States have passed more than 1,800 benefit mandates, requiring insurance companies to cover services from hair prostheses (wigs) to infertility treatments to acupuncturists to massage therapists. These state mandates raise the cost of insurance, which, in turn, increases the number of Americans who are priced out of the health-insurance market.

You may be thinking, what if I don't need a hair prosthesis or infertility treatments? Tough luck. Instead of having a choice in coverage you do need, you'll likely be paying for health insurance at an exorbitant cost to cover things you may never use or desire.

Contrary to what the Statists would like you to think, Big Government has been at the heart of the problem. The high costs in health care are not a function of the free market. They are largely the result of over-regulation. The Leftist Democrat solution? Let's have even more regulation and interference. Shadegg proposes a different path:

The solution: Allow American families to purchase health coverage across state lines. According to a study by the University of Minnesota, 12 million more Americans would be able to buy coverage if this simple solution were enacted into law.

Another no-cost solution? Give Americans the option to take the cash their employer uses to purchase health care and let them buy a plan on their own. If they are happy with their current plan, let them keep it. If not, let them take their business elsewhere and buy their own health coverage. This would force the insurance industry to innovate and control costs, or face losing
business to companies that do.

Americans should also be able to purchase their health insurance on the same tax-advantaged basis as their employers. If your employer purchased health insurance on your behalf today, he would be able to do so with pre-tax dollars. However, in today's market, if you go it alone, you won't get any tax incentive to purchase your own health care. This would be a simple remedy to our still antiquated tax code, which favors big government and punishes individuals.

Allowing insurance portability and fixing the tax code is just a cost-savings start. How about enacting restrictions on runaway medical malpractice litigation such as pre-litigation review panels and loser-pay provisions for frivolous suits? Making any one of these changes to our health-care system wouldn't cost taxpayers a single cent and could save us billions over the long
term.

These ideas considered separately or enacted together will reduce costs for those who have health-insurance coverage and enable others to afford it. The savings could be used to fund high-risk pools for individuals with pre-existing conditions, and to provide tax credits and vouchers so no American goes without basic health coverage.

Conservatives have pushed many of these ideas for years with Democrats fighting tooth-and-nail against any reform that doesn't give government greater power over our lives. The ideas presented by Congressman Shadegg (none are new--Conservatives have talked about these for years) would reduce health care costs and enable more Americans to be able to purchase their own policies. One additional reform not mentioned in Shadegg's essay is to allow small businesses, members of organizations and other groups to create pools that could help spread the risk and lower costs.

But rather than consider these common sense proposals, congressional Democrats are insisting we push through a new trillion-dollar government controlled scheme.

Proponents of ObamaCare can't cite one shred of evidence that giving politicians and Washington bureaucrats more power and control will produce better quality health care or lower costs. In fact, the Congressional Budget Office admitted it has had no time to study exactly how much the bill will increase premiums for average Americans—something it routinely does for health-care legislation that is moving through Congress.

Does anyone believe the billions in new taxes as well as hundreds of pages of new rules and regulations being proposed will lower the cost of health care in America? But not knowing how much this will harm families didn't stop Congress from advancing one of the most sweeping pieces of legislation our nation has ever seen. That's scary and irresponsible.

Why aren't we trying, or even debating, these no-cost solutions that insert choice into the health-care reform equation? Before Congress acts and passes an expensive, untested, new health-care system, the American people need to be heard.

The answer is simple. Power and ideology. Government solutions, even if they solve nothing, make the state more powerful. The Democrat Party is now dominated by Marxists who, despite all evidence to the contrary, believe that only the state can deliver the services needed by a people. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and their fellow travelers are extremists and they will stop at nothing to control every aspect of how you and I live. After all, the government always knows best.

My advice: get there early! The Palin campaign rally in Roanoke was a madhouse and Sarahcuda is as popular as ever. She is a strong, accomplished, intelligent woman who has run businesses, run governments and raised a family. She is the true embodiment of real feminism. But, since she isn't a Marxist or radical opponent of traditional culture she is hated by Big Media, Big Entertainment and so-called "liberals." The Conservative Republican sweep in Virginia and the GOP win over Jon Corzine in New Jersey made November 3 a turning point in the political fortunes of Conservatism in America. Not the Republican Party per se, but Conservatism. The three Virginia winners are all solid Conservatives and even Chris Christy in New Jersey is solidly Conservative on most issues.

This was also the first referendum on the Obama/Pelosi/Reid version of "hope and change." Big Media will attempt to downplay this fact, but it is inescapable. The Tea Party movement and the summer town halls all played a role in Tuesday's outcomes. These were votes for responsible government, not taxes, bailouts, and handouts.

Big Media will point to the Democrat win in the upstate New York congressional race as proof that Conservatism has been marginalized. The truth is just the opposite. Disgraced GOP nominee DeeDee Scazzafalla's endorsement of the Democrat candidate exposed the so-called "moderate" for what she and her ilk are: trojan horses who are simply misaligned Leftists. Conservative leaders across the country, for the most part, showed that they would support an independent over a RINO. No more Arlen Specters or Olympia Snowes. Doug Hoffman's loss was the result of party in-fighting and those who felt that outside forces influenced Scazzafalla's withdrawal. In the long run, Conservatives have shown that they must provide an alternative not an echo.

In one year, the entire House of Representatives and approximately one-third of the Senate will be up for re-election. What will happen? November 3, 2009 may well have been the preview for Election Night, 2010.

WANTAGE, N.J. (AP) - Police in New Jersey are trying to determine who fired a bullet that struck CNN commentator Lou Dobbs' home as his wife stood nearby. State police Sgt. Stephen Jones says Dobbs' wife and driver were outside the home Oct. 5 when they heard the gunshot. Jones says the bullet didn't penetrate the siding and fell to the ground outside.

Dobbs mentioned the bullet earlier this week on CNN and his radio show.

Dobbs says he had been receiving threatening phone calls for weeks. On his radio show, he connected the gunshot to his advocacy for a crackdown on illegal immigration and to his opponents' rhetoric.

The home is on a farm in Wantage, about 50 miles northwest of New York City.

It is small-game hunting season, but no hunters were seen in the area.

Why isn't this story the lead on every newscast? Why isn't it a headline in every newspaper? A couple of months back, Big Media and Leftist Democrats were apoplectic claiming that Tea Party Patriots and others who protested at town meetings were a threat to their safety. All of the angry verbal exchanges made them fear for their physical security. But, were any of those folks targeted by violent attacks? No.

Now, a radio and television commentator whose views are hard to pigeonhole but who is certainly on the conservative end of the spectrum is the victim of a drive-by shooting. His wife was close enough that she hit the ground. The Dobbs house was struck by the bullet. Do you think this could be linked to Statist?Leftist pundits and politicians who marginalize people like Dobbs and accuse them of racism over political disagreements? Could the responsibility be laid at the door of the Southern Poverty Law Center which has turned from being an information center focused on the KKK, Skinheads and Neo-Nazis to just another Leftist advocacy group that accuses mainstream Conservatives of hate speech over issues such as illegal immigration (the SPLC supports the law breakers in this case)? Could we possibly say that a White House that accuses every political opponent of ill will and ulterior motives is responsible for this sort of violence?

I pray that Lou Dobbs and his wife will face no more attacks and will be able to go about their daily business. Was this the act of a nut acting of his own volition or someone who felt the President, the press or their Congressman had declared folks like Dobbs to be fair targets? Has lumping legitimate political thought (you know, the things the Founders believed in) into the same category as Neo-Nazi rants legitimized such violence in the minds of some? Robert Gibbs, Press Stooge for President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama, is out of his league responding to constitutional concerns about the Democrats' desire to take over the American health care system and force Americans to buy insurance.

White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs told CNSNews.com on Wednesday that there is no "veracity" to the argument that the U.S. Constitution does not authorize the federal government to force individuals to buy health insurance.

Oh really? Maybe Gibbs should actually read the Constitution. Since the White House Press Secretary is a constitutional illiterate like his boss, let's make it simple. The Constitution defines the powers of the federal government. Any power not delegated to the federal government belongs to the states. Nothing in the Constitution empowers Congress to take over any industry, control medical care, or force American citizens to buy any product. That isn't complicated. Maybe inconvenient for the tyrant class, but there is little confusion for those who honestly read the document.

"I won't be confused as a constitutional scholar, but I don't believe there's a lot of--I don't believe there's a lot of case law that would demonstrate the veracity of what they're commentating on," said Gibbs.

First, Gibbs will never be confused for a scholar in any field except maybe the profession of bumbling stooge. Secondly, the "case law" canard is a Leftist/Statist standard. No matter how clearly the Constitution reads, they will claim that no one knows what the Constitution means until a federal court has made a decision. The use of federal courts to define the Constitution is a huge reason for the assault on individual liberty and the growth of government that has been the hallmark of so-called Progressives. The fact that activist judges are willing to place ideology ahead of the Constitution does not erase the document itself. It says what it says and doesn't say what it doesn't say. Whether some sleazy constitutional scholar endorses the fact or not, there is no constitutional authority to use force to control Americans in their health care decisions.

In 1994, when the Clinton administration attempted to push a health care reform plan through a Democratic Congress that also mandated every American buy health insurance, the Congressional Budget Office determined that the government had never ordered Americans to buy anything.

“The government has never required people to buy any good or service as a condition of lawful residence in the United States,” the CBO analysis said. “An individual mandate would have two features that, in combination, would make it unique. First, it would impose a duty on individuals as members of society. Second, it would require people to purchase a specific service that would be heavily regulated by the federal government.”

The health care debate is about far more than how medical care will be delivered. Individual liberty is in grave danger. The provisions of this hostile takeover of freedom essentially subjugate and enslave the America public. Sadly, many Americans no longer treasure liberty. They will fall for any offer of security or public largesse even if they lose control over their own lives. To those people, I offer the words of Samuel Adams:

The Truth About Health Insurance Industry's "Obscene Profits"

An Associated Press ""Fact Check" piece points out another of the Obama administration's Big Lies. Rather than try to form a winning argument based on facts and logic, Leftists like President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama attempt to paint their opponents as evil. The target in the health care debate has been the insurance companies who are said to be making "record profits." Oh really??

Quick quiz: What do these enterprises have in common? Farm and construction
machinery, Tupperware, the railroads, Hershey sweets, Yum food brands and Yahoo?
Answer: They're all more profitable than the health insurance industry.

Candy bars and plastic ware to keep your leftovers fresh must be REALLY evil compared to the rapacious insurance companies.

In the health care debate, Democrats and their allies have gone after insurance companies as rapacious profiteers making "immoral" and "obscene" returns while "the bodies pile up."

Ledgers tell a different reality. Health insurance profit margins typically run about 6 percent, give or take a point or two. That's anemic compared with other forms of insurance and a broad array of industries, even some beleaguered ones.

Profits barely exceeded 2 percent of revenues in the latest annual measure. This partly explains why the credit ratings of some of the largest insurers were downgraded to negative from stable heading into this year, as investors were warned of a stagnant if not shrinking market for private plans.

Two percent? Yes, that is obscene, but not in the way Statists who seek to control everyone's health care frame the charge. It is an obscenity to the corporations' stockholders. Even at the typical six percent, the health insurance industry is not breaking the bank.

THE CLAIMS

_"I'm very pleased that (Democratic leaders) will be talking, too, about the immoral profits being made by the insurance industry and how those profits have increased in the Bush years." House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who also welcomed the attention being drawn to insurers' "obscene profits."

_"Keeping the status quo may be what the insurance industry wants their premiums have more than doubled in the last decade and their profits have skyrocketed." Maryland Rep. Chris Van Hollen, member of the Democratic leadership.

_"Health insurance companies are willing to let the bodies pile up as long as their profits are safe." A MoveOn.org ad.

THE NUMBERS:
Health insurers posted a 2.2 percent profit margin last year, placing them 35th on the Fortune 500 list of top industries. As is typical, other health sectors did much better — drugs and medical products and services were both in the top 10.

The railroads brought in a 12.6 percent profit margin. Leading the list: network and other communications equipment, at 20.4 percent.

HealthSpring, the best performer in the health insurance industry, posted 5.4 percent. That's a less profitable margin than was achieved by the makers of Tupperware, Clorox bleach and Molson and Coors beers.

The star among the health insurance companies did, however, nose out Jack in the Box restaurants, which only achieved a 4 percent margin.

Well, there you go. When will the Leftist-Statist-Democrats begin bashing Big Beer, Big Detergent, and Big Plastic? The answer is, as soon as those industries stand between these vile demogogues and some aspect of American life they want to control. The insurers' profits are far from obscene. However, the behavior of Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the other would-be rulers of your life is beyond obscene. It is criminal.

Health insurance companies operate within the arena of growing health care costs, many of which can be laid directly at the feet of government. They are impacted by the lack of competition. They are impacted by government managed markets. They are impacted by the lack of control over ambulance chasers. They are impacted by the inability to offer different levels of coverage.

President Obama claimed he wanted a robust, comprehensive debate on health care. But, to paraphrase Joe Wilson, "he lied!" No matter how much the numbers and the realities refute the claims made by Obama and the leadership of the Kremlin on the Potomac they continue to attack the messenger. Everyone is a tool of Big Insurance or Big Pharma or simply hypnotized by Fox News. The truth is, Democrats are losing the health care debate in the arena of honest debate. The American people are not as ignorant as Democrats like to think. As many legislators found out over the summer, their constituents understood the issues better than the professional politicians. Maybe it is time they begin to heed their betters out here in Real America.

Gallup Poll: Conservatives Maintain Edge as Top Ideological Group

Late last week, Big Media was practically wetting itself over a survey that showed Republican party identification is at its lowest point in decades. As usual, Big Media's analysis did not demonstrate a true understanding of what the numbers meant. A recent Gallup Poll frames the nation's political temperature more clearly.

Conservatives continue to outnumber moderates and liberals in the American populace in 2009, confirming a finding that Gallup first noted in June. Forty percent of Americans describe their political views as conservative, 36% as moderate, and 20% as liberal. This marks a shift from 2005 through 2008, when moderates were tied with conservatives as the most prevalent group.

Big Media may see this as contradictory, but the two sets of numbers make perfect sense. One uncomfortable and inconvenient truth that Big Media has tried to ignore during the Tea Party uprisings and Town Hall discussions was that the increasingly vocal Patriots are rooted in ideas, not party politics. During the September 12 March on Washington, I saw thousands upon thousands of signs, bumper stickers and t-shirts, but only one that was overtly GOP. That was one guy who was working the street trying to sign folks up for the Republican Party. Real America is disgusted with corrupt politicians, Constitutional infidelity and partisan hacks who have zero respect for the American people (for example, the kind of people who keep changing the name of nationalized healthcare to various euphemisms in hopes of finding one that sounds respectable).

Conservatism is on the ascent. Many Republicans realize they have lose their way, but many have not. Some want to play the same political games as they have played in the past. Some want to give half-measures of socialist programs to appear "bipartisan." A few haven't been paying attention since last election day and still want to hitch their wagon to the O-Train.

We The People have risen up and are in the process of re-establishing the GOP as the Conservative party. In recent years, I have found I am more likely to call myself an independent than a Republican because of the party's recent sorry state. Many others have abandoned the label for similar reasons. So, when GOP identification falls it doesn't mean Americans are less Conservative. To the contrary, it means there is a growing group of folks who demand that the Republican Party stand on principle and fight to defend the Constitution and individual liberty. According to Gallup, there's a change in the air.

Charles Krauthammer on Obama's "Fox Wars"

Charles Krauthammer is one of the best in the business. Few columnists have the ability to eviscerate the arrogantly powerful as well as Mr. Krauthammer, as shown in his succinct dissection of President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama's jihad against the Fox News network.

Obama's Fourth Reich hoped to squelch growing criticisms of the White House by attacking a news operation and warning other networks not to pick up stories that originated on Fox. The dutiful Big Media was done the O-Train's bidding and discarded all pretense of legitimate journalism. However, even some members of the state media felt compelled to cover the ACORN scandals and Obama's communist, conspiracy nut homeboy Van Jones after those stories became huge due to Fox News, talk radio and the alternative media. When Obama tried to kick Fox out of the White House press pool, the other bureau chiefs finally said "no." That was a stinging rebuke for The One.

What is truly remarkable about the goofy Left's visceral hatred of Fox News is the fact that the network comprises a small voice in the vast media chorus (though its ratings are incredibly high--guess they aren't out of touch with Real America). Krauthammer notes:

Fox News is no monopoly. It is a singular minority in a sea of liberal media. ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, NPR, CNN, MSNBC vs. Fox. The lineup is so unbalanced as to be
comical -- and that doesn't even include the other commanding heights of the culture that are firmly, flagrantly liberal: Hollywood, the foundations, the universities, the elite newspapers.

Fox and its viewers (numbering more than CNN's and MSNBC's combined) need no
defense. Defend Fox compared to whom? To CNN -- which recently unleashed its
fact-checkers on a "Saturday Night Live" skit mildly critical of President Obama, but did no checking of a grotesquely racist remark CNN falsely attributed to Rush Limbaugh?

This is a bit like the administration's claim that the free market needs competition from the government. Such logic only makes sense to an economic illiterate. Fifteen hundred health insurance companies compete for business (though their ability to compete is constrained to a large degree by, you guess it, the government), but the only REAL competition would come from a government "option." In media, one network presents all sides rather than the Statist talking points and it has undue influence on American journalism. Only in Obama World are Rachel Maddow and Keith Olberman legitimate journalists and Bret Baier a Republican stooge.

Krauthammer's best zinger was aimed at Anita Dunn, White House Mistress of Disinformation. Dunn is the empty skirt who rated the 20th century's most prolific mass murderer, Mao Tse-tung, as one of her two favorite political philosophers.

Defend Fox from the likes of Anita Dunn? She's been attacked for extolling Mao's political philosophy in a speech at a high school graduation. But the critics miss the surpassing stupidity of her larger point: She was invoking Mao as support and authority for her impassioned plea for individuality and trusting one's own choices. Mao as champion of individuality? Mao, the greatest imposer of mass uniformity in modern history, creator of a slave society of a near-billion worker bees wearing Mao suits and waving the Little Red Book?

The White House communications director cannot be trusted to address high schoolers without uttering inanities. She and her cohorts are now to instruct the country on truth and objectivity?

The truth is that Anita Dunn's comments, Obama's associations, Van Jones' moonbat rantings, Rahm Emmanuel's exhortation to "not let a crisis go to waste," Michelle Obama's "first time proud comment and all of the other lunacy that has emanated from Team O is all part of a disturbing reality. That is who they are. That is who HE is. A CNN insider defended the journalists: "They are reporters, not trivia experts. And the buzzer is complicated. It's not activated until Alex [Trebek] finishes the last syllable of the question. If you hit the button too soon, nothing happens."

....Wolf was blitzed last month, coming in last with minus-$4,600, behind comic Andy Richter, a past winner who racked up $68,000 for charity. "Desperate Housewives" star Dana Delany came in second.

One really doesn't need to be well-read or flexible of mind to read a teleprompter. It is really not much of a shock that Wolfie and Soledad got thumped by a collection of jocks, comedians and actors. Reading DNC talking points and blaming every dissenting word on a vast rightwing conspiracy does not take a lot of smarts.

Even some members of Big Media have accused President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama of using Nixonian tactics in his war against Fox News, insurance companies, investment houses, Conservatives, and generally anyone who doesn't hop aboard the O-Train without questioning the destination. Patrick J. Buchanan knows a little about the inner workings of the Nixon White House and he says the comparison with Obama is unfair. According to Buchanan, Nixon faced much tougher opposition than the thin-skinned President Obama.

Nixon took the oath as a minority president, 43 percent, in a hostile city, with both houses of Congress against him and a national press corps that had loathed him since he exposed the establishment golden boy Alger Hiss as a Soviet spy, 20 years before.

Obama took the oath with close to a filibuster-proof Senate, a near 80-seat majority in the House, the media at his feet, not his throat, and a city in adulation that had voted 93 to 7 for Barack Hussein Obama.

The hatred of Nixon was as irrational as it was deep. The hardcore Left never forgave Nixon for his exposure of traitor Alger Hiss. Despite overwhelming evidence followed by irrefutable evidence gleaned from the Venona project, some still consider Hiss some sort of political victim. He was a Communist sympathizer and one who sold out his own country. It is those who continue to support Hiss' memory who have some 'splainin' to do.

Nixon's administration ended the war in Vietnam (which had been escalated by two Democrat presidents), pushed the concept of affirmative action, created the EPA, signed the Endangered Species Act and instituted FDR-style price controls to combat inflation. Nixon's presidency may well have been one of the greatest triangulations in history. He ended the war with honor (though the Democrats in Congress will later make sure both victory and honor were sacrificed), stood up for law and order, and extolled traditional values while signing a series of "progressive" (i.e., socialist) expansions of the federal government.

Obama, on the other hand, is a hardcore Leftists with a team of Fellow Travelers in unconstitutional positions of authority and more positioned in leadership positions throughout the House and Senate. He has a Big Media establishment that consists mostly of people who dream they could be his Monica. Trust me, if Obama sends Chris Matthews a blue dress the name of the Leftist sycophant's MSNBC show "Hard Ball" will take on a whole new meaning.

Whereas Nixon's was pilloried for exposing Communists in high places, Obama's relationships with communists, socialists, and other extremists are downplayed or ignored. Nixon built his reputation uncovering the types of dangerous anti-American activity that is now a resume' enhancer in the Obama White House.

Tricky Dick came unraveled and allowed his paranoia, distrust, anger, and ego get the best of him. However, prior to Watergate, the folks who sought to bury Nixon opposed his patriotism and defense of his country. The radical Left sought to use the legitimate social upheaval of the 1960s (such as the Civil Rights movement) as a veil to mask their desire to drag the United States further into nanny-state socialism. Nixon supported civil rights, but opposed much of the Left's radicalism.

Obama believes he has a mandate to destroy the very foundations of America. Although many saw through his "hope" and "change" nonsense as the Marxist tripe that it was, Obama did his best to mask his true intentions. He lied. The Obama opposition comprises folks who want to defend the Constitution, federalism, and American values that have made this nation the envy of the world. Nixon saw himself as the protector of American greatness. Obama doesn't see America as great. Instead, he presides over a nation that believes is arrogant, greedy, and a source for more ill than good.

At first, the comparison of Obama's enemies list to Nixon's seemed appropriate. However, further analysis shows Barry Obama to be a President who is not under siege, but rather a small man who is unwilling to tolerate dissent in a democratic republic. Brother Buchanan is right. Big Media Shows A Pulse; Rebukes Big Brother Obama's Fox News Ban

President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama finally crossed a line that Big Media could not stomach. On Thursday, it was announced that Obama called for the removal of Fox News from the White House Press Pool (which also includes ABC, CBS, CNN, and NBC). The ban was announced as part of a plan to grant the White House Press Pool interviews with so-called "Pay Czar" Kenneth Fineburg (who actually claimed he has Constitutional authority--hopefully someone will hammer him for that idiotic statement). Today, the bureau chiefs of the four non-Fox networks announced that they would not participate if Fox News is excluded. Despite their obviously-slanted news operations, the other four networks stood up for the 1st Amendment and deserve congratulations.

I don't think Big Media is any less in the tank for the Obama administration than it was yesterday and I have no doubt they will continue to be shills for the O-Train. However, the White House Press Pool decision was not a total surprise. Earlier in the week, ABC News senior White House correspondent Jake Tapper confronted Obama Press Stooge Robert Gibbs:

Tapper: It's escaped none of our notice that the White House has decided in the last few weeks to declare one of our sister organizations "not a news organization" and to tell the rest of us not to treat them like a news organization. Can you explain why it's appropriate for the White House to decide that a news organization is not one -

Gibbs: Jake, we render, we render an opinion based on some of their coverage and the fairness that, the fairness of that coverage.

Tapper: But that's a pretty sweeping declaration that they are "not a news organization." How are they any different from, say -

Gibbs: You and I should watch sometime around 9 o'clock tonight. Or 5 o'clock this afternoon.

Tapper: I'm not talking about their opinion programming or issues you have with certain reports. I'm talking about saying thousands of individuals who work for a media organization, do not work for a "news organization" -- why is that appropriate for the White House to say?

Gibbs: That's our opinion.

Gibbs was obviously referring to Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity, neither of whom claim to be journalists. They are Conservative commentators and clearly advertise themselves as such. Notice that Gibbs and Obama don't have a problem with alleged journalist Andrea Mitchell who has become increasingly nasty in interviews with non-Democrats. Or with Chris Matthews who gets funny feelings running up his leg when Obama speaks (Michelle O may want to keep an eye on that situation). Or with Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow who refuse to admit they are hardcore Leftists while shilling for the most extreme Left political positions. Or Rick Sanchez who is nothing but a Democrat bomb thrower. Or the condescending Charlie Gibson. Or the snarky Katie Couric. In other words, opinion journalism is only a threat to their vision of Amerika when it disagrees with Obama's leftist ideology.

How bad is the White House temper tantrum and partisan sniping? Hardcore Leftist reporter Helen Thomas even criticized Obama for their asinine attacks.

This situation is worth watching. For today, Big Media did the right thing and stood up for a free press. Will they continue to stand firm against a White House that seems intent on a Castro-Chavez style, state-controlled media? Stay tuned.

A Patriot Stands: Tennessee State Representative Susan Lynn Defends Federalism

Tennessee state representative Susan Lynn is the latest American Patriot to take a stand for federalism and adherence to the U.S. Constitution. Lynn wrote a letter to the other 49 state legislatures, urging them to follow the Volunteer State's lead in passing a state sovereignty resolution. In other words, rather than licking the federal government's boots, the states need to draw a line in the constitutional sand and just say "no."

Representative Lynn's letter is a great history refresher for all Americans. She set the stage by recounting the circumstances that prompted the move for independence in 1776 and the principles that provided the bedrock of our Constitution. Masterfully, she points out the dangerous path that our nation now walks:

So there are clear limits to the power of the federal government. However, today the simple and clear expression of purpose has turned into the modern expectation that the national government has an obligation to ensure our life, to create our liberty, and fund our pursuit of happiness. The national government has become a complex system of programs whose purposes lie outside of the responsibilities of the enumerated powers and of securing our natural rights; programs that benefit some while others must pay.

Today, the federal government seeks to control the salaries of those employed by private business, to change the provisions of private of contracts, to nationalize banks, insurers and auto manufacturers, and to dictate to every person in the land what his or her medical choices will be.

Forcing property from employers to provide healthcare, legislating what individuals are and are not entitled to, and using the labor of some so that others can receive money that they did not earn goes far beyond securing natural rights and the enumerated powers.

The role of our American government has been blurred, bent, and breached. Adherence to the specific powers and the fundamental American ideal that our government is based on the theory of natural rights expressed ever so simply as
the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and that no government can deny these rights; the rights endowed to us by our creator must be restored.

To be sure, the People created the federal government to be their agent for certain enumerated purposes only. The Constitutional ratifying structure was created so it would be clear that it was the People, and not the States, that were doing the ratifying.

The Tenth Amendment defines the total scope of federal power as being that which has been delegated by the people to the federal government, and also that which is absolutely necessary to advancing those powers specifically enumerated in the Constitution of the United States. The rest is to be handled by the state governments, or locally, by the people themselves.

The Constitution does not include a congressional power to override state laws. It does not give the judicial branch unlimited jurisdiction over all matters. It does not provide Congress with the power to legislate over everything. This is verified by the simple fact that attempts to make these principles part of the Constitution were soundly rejected by its signers.

With this in mind, any federal attempt to legislate beyond the Constitutional limits of Congress’ authority is a usurpation of state sovereignty - and unconstitutional.

Amen, sister! As the federal government attempts to erase all remnants of legitimate federalism it is the duty of the state governments to demand their sovereignty. The 10th Amendment is a powerful statement on the limits of the federal government in the united States of America. It is time each state erect a giant middle finger and direct it at the Kremlin on the Potomac.

Lamar Alexander Admonishes Barack Milhous Obama and His White House Enemies List

Roll Call reports that Tennessee U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander publicly warned President Barack Milhous Obama about the obvious development of a White House enemies list.

“Based upon that experience and my 40 years since then in and out of public life, I want to make what I hope will be taken as a friendly suggestion to President Obama and his White House: Don’t create an enemies list,” Alexander said.

Describing the actions of Vice President Spiro Agnew and Nixon operative Chuck Colson, Alexander said he sees “symptoms of this same kind of animus developing in the Obama administration.”

Alexander read off a list of examples he says support his contention, including: a reported effort by the White House to marginalize the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a supposed effort by the Health and Human Services Department to put a “gag order” on the insurer Humana, the White House move to take on Fox News, Obama’s repeated criticisms of banks and investment houses, his alleged “taking names” of “bondholders who resisted the GM and Chrysler bailouts,” and the president’s move to make insurers the bogeyman of the health care debate.

Alexander claimed that the incipient White House “enemies” campaign extends even to Congress. He suggested that Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) was the victim of a sort of payback, saying that after Kyl suggested the stimulus plan wasn’t working, the White house subsequently wrote the governor of Arizona that, “If you don’t want the money, we won’t send it.”

He said that after he and Sen. Bob Bennett (R-Utah) questioned the power of White House “czars,” they both were “called out” on the White House blog.

“This behavior is typical of street brawls and political campaign consultants,” Alexander said. “If the president and his top aides treat people with different views as enemies instead of listening to what they have to say, they’re likely to end up with a narrow view and a feeling that the whole world is out to get them. And as those of us who served in the Nixon White House know, that can get you into a lot of trouble.”

Senator Alexander is exactly right. Mr. Hope and Change has taken an active role in further dividing American citizens during his nine months in office. Democrats developed a mass case of the vapors when George W. Bush drew a line in the sand in regard to Saddam Hussein, Kim Jung-Il and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. President Barry Vladimir Hussein Milhous Soetero Obama wants to play nice with world dictators, but is engaged in a public relations war with American citizens who dare to disagree with The One.

No one is allowed to dissent from Obama. If you take him on, he will try to ruin you. The problem is that President Barry seems to have jumped the shark. The peak of Obama-mania is long past. He cannot bully the entire country. It is clear that this windbag intends to try to smear his political opponents. In the tradition of the legendary dictators, Obama embraces the "Big Lie" and repeats it over and over hoping repetitive dishonesty can replace facts. It is difficult to be the bearer of the "new tone" when you are tossing battery acid on your dissenters.

World Net Daily reports that Anita Dunn is quite proud of the way the Obama campaign contolled media content. She detailed the O-Train's tactics during a conference with the Dominican Republic's government. Of course, Dunn's recitation of Obama's media manipulation tactics was not shocking. The video shown by Glenn Beck on Thursday was even more troublesome.

Yep, that Mao. White House Communications Director Anita Dunn, the one who accused Fox News of journalistic dishonesty, has a political philosophy grounded in the ideology of murderous communist dictator Mao Tse-tung. Now, isn't that special? Of course, I'm sure President Obama is shocked, shocked I tell you.

Never has a White House been staffed by so many people who utterly reject the principles and foundations on which the United States was built. Clearly, the insiders of the Democrat party, including their highest ranking officials, media sycophants, and financial sources, inhabit the far Left of the political spectrum. Those who love this country need to spread the word far and wide. Most Americans who vote for Democrats are voting for a party that no longer exists. "In terms of Freddie's Fashion Mart, Rev. Al Sharpton, along with local elected officials supported the protests. However, a lone gunman who disagreed with the nonviolent nature of the protests entered the store and killed seven people and himself… For Mr. Limbaugh to imply that Rev. Sharpton has anything to do with someone that killed people and himself is blatantly wrong," the statement continues.

Is this going to be Sharpton's defense? Good luck, though I know Big Media will do its best to spin this into Crazy Al being a meek and peaceful Gandhi-like figure rather than the frothing demogogue that he is. It was Sharpton who whipped up anger against Jews and Koreans. It was Sharpton who pronounced non-Blacks as "interlopers" who took advantage of poor Blacks. It is Sharpton who has dedicated his life to the proposition that Blacks and Whites should never get along. That is, unless the Whites are Statists or Marxists who are willing to provide goodies for Sharpton to peddle to his acolytes.

Sharpton was intentionally involved in driving hatred in specific situations, but he can't be held responsible for the ensuing violence? This comes from the same Big Media that blamed Rush for the Oklahoma City bombings. These same lying cretins connected Rush to the murder of the King of Abortions last year. In fact, they have accused him of trying to cause the assassination of President Obama.

Most people who watch the Big Media no longer believe them. The small core who actually does find credibility in Big Media are typically the Leftist Moonbats. Most Americans know that a man who makes a daily case for Conservative ideals and sometimes uses satire and absurdity to do so is not a threat to anyone except Statists and out-of-touch elites. They also know that a scumbag (with apologies to scumbags) who drops into tense situations with a bull horn and no conscience can create havoc.

In today's Wall Street Journal, Rush Limbaugh sets the record straight on his involvement in a potential ownership group for the St. Louis Rams and also takes some hard shots at some of the dishonest purveyors of racial hatred in America. The column is pure Rush. No nonsense. Take no prisoners.

As soon as Limbaugh's name was leaked as a possible owner, the racial McCarthyites went to work.

...Shortly thereafter, the media elicited comments from the likes of Al Sharpton. In 1998 Mr.

Sharpton was found guilty of defamation and ordered to pay $65,000 for falsely accusing a New York prosecutor of rape in the 1987 Tawana Brawley case. He also played a leading role in the 1991 Crown Heights riot (he called neighborhood Jews "diamond merchants") and 1995 Freddie's Fashion Mart riot.

Not to be outdone, Jesse Jackson, whose history includes anti-Semitic speech (in 1984 he referred to Jews as "Hymies" and to New York City as "Hymietown" in a Washington Post interview) chimed in. He found me unfit to be associated with the NFL.

Al Sharpton and Je$$e Jackson should be seen as the biggest villains in the Black community. Neither has contributed anything positive to their race, while they jostle for lead position as the "spokesman" for all Black people. They are both hustlers and con men. Neither works to improve the lives of Black people. Instead, they build a power base by accusing every political opponent of the Democrat party as a "racist." When a confrontation involving a black person and a white person occurs, Jackson and Sharpton are quick to make sure it is not merely a dispute between two people. Any problem is a product of centuries of racism. By treating Black people as perpetual victims and helpless pawns, these sleaze merchants do more to hold back members of their race than any gang of toothless, backwoods Klansmen could ever do.

Next came writers in the sports world, like the Washington Post's Michael Wilbon. He wrote this gem earlier this week: "I'm not going to try and give specific examples of things Limbaugh has said over the years because I screwed up already doing that, repeating a quote attributed to Limbaugh (about slavery) which he has told me he simply did not say and does not reflect his feelings. I take him at his word. . . . "

Mr. Wilbon wasn't alone. Numerous sportswriters, CNN, MSNBC, among others, falsely attributed to me statements I had never made. Their sources, as best I can tell, were Wikipedia and each other. But the Wikipedia post was based on a fabrication printed in a book that also lacked any citation to an actual source.

Michael Wilbon conducted a couple foolish diatribes on the silly ESPN program he shares with Tony Kornheiser. Wilbon and Kornheiser should stick to their normal "Beavis and Butthead" repartee and avoid discussing the complex. All Wilbon could do was use phony "quotes" and out-of-context comments. Look, Wilbon, we get it. You are a political Leftist and the extent of your knowledge is what Keith Olberman tells you to think. Don't embarrass yourself. Stick to second-guessing coaches.

The airheads in sports media have really had it out for Rush Limbaugh since the Donovan McNabb comments that cost Rush his position on ESPN. The "McNabb incident" is indicative of the Big Lie that the American Left has learned from their fellow travelers across the Marxist world. Limbaugh basically said two things about Donovan McNabb:

He was overrated. If you go back to that time, Limbaugh was certainly not the only one who held that opinion of McNabb. In the period where the Philadelphia Eagles were regularly reaching the NFC Championship game, many pointed out it was the defense and not the quarterback who spurred their success. And since when is calling a player "overrated" a sign of racism? This happens on a daily basis on local and national sports broadcasts. Could it be that this event was racist ONLY because the words were spoken by Rush Limbaugh?
The other part of the statement was that the media hyped McNabb because they wanted a Black quarterback to be successful. Now, whether this is true or not, how is this a racist statement? It is analysis. Maybe it is right, maybe it is wrong. Rush's point involved the "race consciousness" of the media. Most in the sports media are Leftist Democrats and they see everything in terms of race. How many times have you heard the hyping of an individual as "the first Black fill-in-the-blank?" No matter how removed we are from segregation, Big Media is still consumd by race. Take Sonia Sotomayor. Despite her extreme statements and ridicule of the constitutional role of federal judges, any criticism of her was chalked up to racism. After all, she is the first Hispanic Supreme Court justice.

The McNabb kerfuffle was a non-incident. Rush Limbaugh referred to a good, but not great quarterback as overrated and poked the media for its hyper-sensitive to race. That was the real crime. Big Media, even in the sports departments, is so full of phonies that they react angrily when they are exposed and ridiculed. The race grievance industry got involved and instructed the dumb masses that Rush Limbaugh had launched a racist attack. The Big Media echo chamber repeated the Big Lie over and over until it became holy writ. Orwell nods.

Recent events have provided more evidence to disprove one of the sacred myths of the American Left: namely, the oft-recited mantra of how Fox News is simply an arm of the Republican Party unlike the "real journalists" in the so-called mainstream media (Big Media).

Last week, Sean Hannity invited "documentary" (wink, wink) director Michael Moore on his Fox show. Hannity gave Moore nearly an hour of air time. More people saw the Leni Riefenstahl of the American Left that night that will buy tickets to watch his latest half-baked propaganda piece. Moore was able to spew his non-sequitors and lies about capitalism (which he clearly could not define) and explain his goofy point-of-view.

Meanwhile, constitutional scholar and talk radio host Mark Levin wrote a book last spring, Liberty and Tyranny, that spent 13 weeks atop the New York Times best-seller list and has remained in the top ten for most of six months. Levin's book has sold over a million copies, which is extremely rare for political non-fiction. The Old Gray Lady provided only a short, half-hearted review of the book. None of the major networks gave one second of coverage to the 13-week number one book on a news program, news magazine show, or morning gab fest.

You see, whereas Hannity was willing to debate Moore and his kooky Leftist ideology, Big Media knows that they cannot intellectually refute the rock solid arguments made by Mark Levin in Liberty and Tyranny. Levin is not some slob with outlandish pronouncements. He is a clear communicator who has written the best explanation of Conservatism in recent memory. So, despite the incredible success of Levin and his book, Big Media has chosen to pretend Liberty and Tyranny does not exist.

The moral of the story is quite simple. Conservatives know their ideas and their foundations are solid and they can defend them against wacky Leftists. Statist Moonbats realize they only way their anti-liberty, anti-American ideologies can appear plausible is to prevent side-by-side comparisons at all costs. I'm still hoping someone in Big Media will grow a pair and belatedly bring Levin on to discuss his book. That will be "must see TV."

Driving to work this morning, I heard the news of Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama's Nobel Peace Prize award. And the laughter ensued. Obama-mania has truly reached the realms of absurdity.

The man had achieved nothing in life, but knew how to build a brand and deliver a speech. He parlayed those ancillary talents into becoming the 44th President of the United States. Why should it be a surprise that the same gaseous platitudes and Miss America philosophy could result in winning the Nobel Peace Prize? After all, Nobel committee members admitted that Jimmy Carter's Nobel Prize was largely awarded for his verbal tirades against President Bush and American foreign policy. Who does America bashing better than Obama? He has no peer in that field, so he was a natural winner.

The Milli Vanilli president is the emptiest suit to ever enter the political world. Becoming the biggest phony in American politics is truly an achievement. He projects American weakness. The world loves that. He rejects American exceptionalism. That is endearing to the international community. He believes America has been a force for ill around the globe. That makes him part of the in-crowd among the one-worlders.

His "dedication" to peace is clear. He unilaterally nullified agreements to provide defense systems for Poland and the Czech Republic. The Poles and Czechs don't feel safer. He will not meet with the Dalai Lama during the Tibetan leader's trip to America. Obama does not want to offend Red China. He believes the world will be more peaceful if no nuclear weapons exist. Hitler did not have nukes. Mao did not have nukes. Stalin did not have nukes for most of his tenure. Tojo did not have nukes. The man has no understanding of the "peace through strength" principle. He is willing to treat Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as an equal and negotiate with the terrorist state of Iran. He calls on Israel to give up more land to the terrorists who are attacking them on a daily basis. Obama is praised by Hugo Chavez, Daniel Ortega, Fidel Castro, and Moammar Quadaffi. Even French President Nicholas Sarkozy has commented on Obama's weakness and naivete. This is not a picture that will create and preserve greater peace.

It has been widely reported that the man who saved AM radio, Rush Limbaugh, is in discussions to become a part-owner of the St. Louis Rams. We have no idea how far along these discussions are or if we would be the primary voice of Rams ownership if it does happen. We do know everything Rush touches turns to gold (including the golden EIB microphone). This is good news for fans of the recently hapless Rams.

But, I have a better idea. PLEASE, Rush, BUY the Washington Redskins! Daniel Snyder has been a disaster for we Redskin fans. Coaches come and go, players come and go, but that clown with far more money than football intellect remains. We need the Maha-rushee to take over this show. The decision making will be crisper and imagine how sick Democrats will be watching the Redskins, owned by America's Truth Detector, winning Super Bowls while he wins minds and hearts.

Come on Rush, I want to sing "Hail to the Redskins" during the Super Bowl again. Even the Rams have won since the 'Skins last did. Turning D.C.'s football team into a winner again would be the cherry on top for one of America's greatest patriots.

Whole Foods CEO John Mackey: Unlikely Villain for American Moonbats

Over the summer, Whole Foods CEO John Mackey shared some of the methods he has used to expand health care coverage for his employees along with other ideas for free market health care reform in a Wall Street Journal editorial. Mackey's template for expanding free market health care options caused the Moonbat Left (Daily Kos, Democrat Underground, etc.) to incite a boycott of his grocery chain. In return, Real Americans (those who don't believe free market solutions signify treason) pushed a "buycott" encouraging folks to buy groceries at Whole Foods (and if you don't have a store close by, you can send a gift card to a friend who does).

In Saturday's Wall Street Journal, Stephen Moore published his interview with Mackey to talk about the uproar over his health care proposals and other issues. One thing is clear, John Mackey is not the typical CEO.

Mr. Mackey has flown into Washington, D.C., for a board meeting of the Global Animal Partnership, a group that advocates for the humane treatment of animals. There was no private jet: He arrived on Southwest Airlines from Austin, Texas, and he bought the "Wanna Getaway" bottom basement fare. "I barely got the last aisle seat," he says. While in town he stays in the bedroom of his regional president, who lives in Maryland.

For the 12th straight year, Mr. Mackey's company has been praised as one of the "100 Best Companies to Work For" by Fortune Magazine. Whole Foods sells healthy food, practices "socially responsible trade," and prides itself on promoting foods that are grown to support "biodiversity and healthy soils." Mr. Mackey donates 5% of company profits to charity and has been one of America's loudest critics of runaway compensation on Wall Street. And he pays himself $1 a year. He would seem to be a model corporate citizen.

Mackey is not your typical Right Wing Conspiracy member. He runs his business on a set of values that are rare in corporate America. But, what makes him even more impressive is that he doesn't demand that government force other companies to adopt the same policies. Mackey's "controversial" health care statement stirred the Leftist Loons precisely because it provided a path for expanding health coverage without a government takeover.

What Mr. Mackey is proposing is more or less what he has already implemented at his company—a plan that would allow more health savings accounts (HSAs), more low-premium, high-deductible plans, more incentives for wellness, and medical malpractice reform. None of these initiatives are in any of the Democratic bills winding their way through Congress. In fact, the Democrats want to kill HSAs and high-deductible plans and mandate coverage options that would inflate health insurance costs.

The Whole Foods health-care story has been largely ignored by proponents of a government-run system. But it could be a template for those in Washington who want to drive down costs and insure the uninsured.

Mr. Mackey says that combining "our high deductible plan (patients pay for the first $2,500 of medical expenses) with personal wellness accounts or health savings accounts works extremely well for us." He estimates the plan's premiums plus other costs at $2,100 per employee, and about $7,000 for a family. This is about half what other companies typically pay. "And," he is quick to add, "we do cover pre-existing conditions after one year of service."

Whole Foods also puts several hundred dollars into a health savings account for each worker.This money can be used to cover routine medical expenses, like drug purchases or antismoking programs. If that money is not used in a year, the workers can save the money to pay for expenses in later years.

This type of plan does not excite proponents of a single-payer system, who think that individuals can't make wise health-care choices, and that this type of system is "antiwellness" because it discourages spending on preventive care.

Mr. Mackey scoffs at that idea: "The assumption behind that is that people don't care about their own health, and that somebody else has to—a nanny or somebody—has to take care of me because people are too stupid to make these decisions themselves. That's not been our experience. We find our team members [employees], not surprisingly, seem to care a whole lot about their health."

Here is the problem: President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama and the Democrats in the Kremlin on the Potomac do not want a solution to the current problems that impact the availability and cost of health care. They want to control it. It is that simple. These Statists believe that the only solution is to give your health responsibility to the people who have created more debt in eight months than the previous 44 presidents ran up in 220 years.

Sarah Palin "Going Rogue" Is Already #1 Seller

The lady that Leftists and Statists love to hate is back! More than six weeks before the release date of Going Rogue, Sarah Palin's book is already the #1 seller on Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble. The book was originally to be published in the spring of 2010, but the release date has been moved up to November 17. Sounds like great timing for Christmas gift giving.

The title of the book may foreshadow a potential theme. "Going rogue" is how some members of Team McCain allegedly characterized Palin's increasing disregard for their campaign advice. My gut tells me that this book will not be kind to the John McCain camp and their namby-pamby, RINO impulses. Palin was the only life in Johnny Mac's funereal effort and the one person on the ticket who actually understands Conservatism and the expectations of Real America.

Sarah Palin has been so successfully lampooned by Big Media and Big Entertainment nitwits that many think she is not a viable presidential candidate. I'm not so sure. Just because a bunch of Leftist elites find an accomplished woman with a strong family and Conservative values to be a punchline does not mean Real America shares their childishness. Just remember, these are the same people who champion child-rapist Roman Polanski as a brilliant artist who didn't really hurt anyone when he fed Quaaludes and booze to a 13 year-old before sodomizing her and raping her.

Sarah Palin understands Conservatism and has lived a life that resonates with regular folk. Many Conservatives in the lower 48 were aware of her before McCain tabbed her as his running mate. However, it wasn't until she took the stage at the Republican convention that Americans discovered Palin's dynamic personality and magnetic qualities. Conservatives supported John McCain only because he wasn't Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama. When Palin climbed aboard the "Straight Talk Express" she gave the silver-haired RINO some Conservative street cred.

I'm looking forward to seeing the direction Sarah Palin takes with this book. One thing is for sure: Conservatives will buy Going Rogue for themselves, their friends, and their families. Another leadpipe lock is that Leftist Democrats will attack everything about Palin, her collaborator, the content of the book, and anyone who publicly praises the woman or her words. Should provide some great Turkey Day discussion around America. I can't wait!

An Update on States Rights (i.e., The United States Constitution)

Those who have not read the United States Constitution and those who pretend it doesn't exist come down with the vapors at the thought of the word "states rights." The reason, of course, is that the textbooks used in our mandatory indoctrination factories (public schools) use the term only in the context of a last-ditch effort to protect slavery and later to justify segregation. They generally fail to include The Federalist Papers, the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions written by James Madison and Thomas Jefferson, and the U.S. Constitution itself in explaining the concept of "states rights."

Now that creeping socialism has morphed into sprinting Marxism under President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama, Czarina Pelosi, and Court Jester Reid some states are starting to remember that they have every right to tell the Kremlin on the Potomac to pound sand. The New York Times reports on the growing 10th Amendment movement across America. It seems the trigger for many is the Democrats' desire to make it a criminal offense to not purchase health insurance. Funny, but the Constitution does not seem to provide such authority to Congress.

Congress' powers are clearly outlined in Article I of the Constitution. And what of those things not mentioned in the Constitution? See the 10th Amendment:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Got it? Members of Congress who introduce bills or vote for bills that fall outside the parameters of the Constitution are violating their oath of office. The government does not belong to them. The Constitution is still in effect and "We The People" have every right to demand that these arrogant tyrants remain within their lawful boundaries. During the town hall meetings in August, more than one Congressperson and many Statist pundits talked about legislators living in fear. My response? Good! We are citizens not subjects. When they seek to take away individual liberty and freedom from American citizens we should be loudly engaged. If they want to "turn down the temperature" they can start by recognizing their authority is limited by the Constitution. But, as long as they desire to rule over the people they cannot expect politeness and civility from their victims.

The 10th Amendment is the ultimate trump card for the states against an abusive and invasive federal leviathan. However, that powerful statement was unnecessary in the eyes of Founding Father James Madison, who wrote in Federalist No. 45:

"The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation and foreign commerce. ... The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives and liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement and prosperity of the State."

No constitutional amendment has changed that principle. It has been attacked by successive waves of legislators who do not wish to abide by the constraints of limited government. But, there it remains. As long as liberty's flame flickers in the hearts of Americans, it is never too late to reclaim the birthright bequeathed to us by the Founders and protected by successive generations of brave soldiers.

Hopefully, a new awareness of the precarious state of American liberty will lead to a revitalized and committed Republican party that will wrest the federal government from the clutches of the Statists who currently hold the keys. In the meantime, it is our duty to support courageous state legislators and governors who are willing to fight for their legitimate powers. Newsbusters has called out the worst President in American history, Jimmuh Cartuh, for lying about his blanket assertion that the political opposition to President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama is based in racism. CNN's Candy Crowley asked Carter about his overheated comments and America's presidential embarrassment lied. Like many Democrats, Jimmuh Cahtuh does not seem to believe that audio recording equipment exists. Newsbusters lays bare Carter's dishonesty:

The topic of the former president’s inflammatory accusation came midway through the CNN correspondent’s live interview during the 8 am Eastern hour. Crowley had first asked Carter about the revamp of his presidential museum and library. Before turning to the Obama/race issue, she also prompted Mrs. Carter, who was also present, to comment on the future of mental health care.

Carter was clearly defensive about his allegation when Crowley brought it up. The correspondent put her question this way: “Mr. President, let me ask you first- domestically, you made some remarks recently about how you felt about the protesters that were protesting against President Obama. You said, overall, you thought the protesters were upset that there was a black president, that there was racism involved.” The former president interrupted, “By the way, that’s not what I said.”

The Democrat continued that “I said, those on the fringe element that had vituperative personal attacks on President Obama- those were the ones that I included.” Crowley attempted to read her paraphrase again, but Carter shot back, “No, it wasn’t. If you read the remarks carefully, you’ll see that’s not what I said. I
said those that had a personal vituperative attack [sic] on- on President Obama
as a person- that was tinged with racism, but I recognize that people who disagree with him on health care or the environment, things like that- the vast majority of those are not tinged by racism.

”That’s not what you said the first time around, Mr. Carter. MRC’s Brent Baker transcribed the key portion from the interview in question from NBC Nightly News on September 15:

CARTER: I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he's African-American. I live in the south and I’ve seen the south come a long way and I've seen the rest of the country that shared the south's attitude toward minority groups, at that time particularly African-Americans, that that racism [unintelligible word] still exists. And I think it's bubbled up to the surface because of belief among many white people, not just in the south, but around the country, that African-Americans are not qualified to lead this great country. It's an abominable circumstance and grieves me and concerns me
very deeply.

Crowley replied to Carter’s version of what he said, “So you think they were taken out of context. You didn’t mean that most of those protesters out there were racist.” Carter answered, “I meant exactly what I said. That I actually said, if you look at the transcript, is just what I just repeated to you.”

Jimmuh Cahtuh is a disgrace and the biggest embarrassment to ever inhabit the White House. He is a man who exploited race for his own benefit when segregation was still popular in Georgia and, less than a decade later, portrayed himself as a champion of civil rights. The real Jimmy Carter is an anti-semitic political opportunist with no soul.

Marco Rubio Is Conservatism's Only Hope In Florida

For example, Rubio says the majority of Americans don’t want to see their government adapting a Western European style invasion into the economy.

One thing that has been clear at the Tea Party events I have attended, including the Million Patriot March in D.C., is that grass roots Conservatives are as angry with phony Republicans as they are with Leftist Democrats. Simply placing an (R) after the name does not impress the revived political awareness of Real America. True Conservatives who will legislate on principle are valued. Polished politicians with no soul can keep moving.

Can Rubio win? All indications are that he can, as discussed by George Will in The Washington Post. However, whether Rubio or Crist is likelier to win the Florida seat is irrelevant. Crist's loyalty to Conservatism will be based on the most recent poll. If the political winds dictate, he will support the Democrats at every turn. When Republicans support Leftist/Statist legislation, they give legitimacy to those who disrespect the Constitution and the American people. The RINOs are the reason the GOP took a beating in 2006 and 2008. The last thing Republicans need to do is elect more.

Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein said Polanski was a "humanist" who had been the victim of a "miscarriage of justice". He said: "We will have to speak to our leaders, particularly in California. I'm not too shy to go and talk to the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and to ask him once and for all to look at this." However, the views of the Hollywood elite seemed out of step with those of ordinary Americans and they now face a backlash.

You see, in the world of Woody Allen, Martin Scorcese, Debra Winger and Harvey Weinstein it is OK for a 44 year-old man to rape a 13 year-old girl as long as he is a "brilliant artist." Now, if he were a priest or a construction worker or a banker it would be a disgusting criminal act. But, award-winning directors should be allowed to violate children at will.

It is bad enough that the half-wits in the entertainment industry do not see the irony in spending $200,000 for a dress for an awards ceremony while bashing small business people who work 80 hours a week and make personal sacrifices in the hope of earning $200,000 in a year as greedy capitalists who should be taxed at confiscatory rates. They believe that regular folks should ride bicycles or drive motorized tuna cans while they tool around in private jets and tricked-out Hummers. Now, we are finding a group of these lowlifes who defend child rape as being no big deal when the violator is a "well-respected" film "genius." Disgraceful.

Ahmadinejad and Obama Share Similar Views of Israel

The United States joined several other countries in walking out during Iranian dictator Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's rambling diatribe in front of the United Nations of Thugs and Dictators General Assembly. That was a good move. However, the U.S. delegation should have walked out on an earlier speaker who also misrepresented the nature of the Israeli state and who seems poised to overturn his country's long history of support for the Israeli people. Everyone knows Ahmadinejad is nuttier than a squirrel turd, but this other world leader is looked to as a symbol of hope for the future. Fox News.com quotes the former community agitator:

"We continue to call on Palestinians to end incitement against Israel, and we continue to emphasize that America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements," he said.

Obama said four issues separate the two sides: security, borders, refugees and Jerusalem, but the goal is clear: a secure, Jewish state for Israel and "a viable, independent Palestinian state with contiguous territory that ends the occupation that began in 1967."

The 44th President of the United States, Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama, gave one of his patented fear-mongering speeches. The U.S. has been a force for ill. The world is about to explode from the heat (despite 10 years of temperature decreases). We should get rid of all nuclear weapons. We must play footsy with dictators. This was typical Obama. Everything is a crisis and the United States is the root of all evil. However, in front of a roomful of the world's sleaziest rogues and miscreants, Obama attacked our ally, Israel. The President's use of the word "occupation" to describe Israel's possession of territory they acquired when THEY were attacked would be laughable if it did not signal such a dangerous turn in U.S. foreign policy. There is no moral equivalence between a peaceful democracy that has been forced to defend itself from brutish neighbors who seek to eliminate its existence.

But, for this President principle is never an impediment to his desire to be the most popular guy in the room. This was seen in his campaign last year. Obama will tell any room what its occupants want to hear. Bashing the United States and Israel sends one to the head of the class in the United Nations of Thugs and Dictators.

If the Arab world cared so much about the so-called Palestinians they would have provided a home for them long ago. Israel is a dot in the Middle East, but this faux ethnic group ("Palestinians") must be given a state carved out of Israeli territory. Israel has given and given in past peace talks. What have they received in return? Murder, mayhem, and now treachery from a trusted friend.

In the last week, Osama bin Laden released a statement in which he endorsed the anti-Semitic book on Arab-Israeli relations by America's worst ex-President Jimmy Carter. Leftist foreign policy hack Zbigniew Brzezinski called for the U.S. to shoot down Israeli planes if they attempt to take out Iran's nuclear capabilities. Libyan lunatic Moammar Khadaffy referred to Obama as "his son." Despite all the blustering from Ahmadinejad in Iran, Obama gave his endorsement to the crooked election results that kept the madman in power. It is clear that America's Leftwing is anti-Israel and desirous of leading the Jewish state into a suicide pact that will threaten its very existence.

The United States must not waver in supporting the one legitimate democracy in the Middle East. Our President seems willing to chuck Israel to the wolves. From his anti-Israel stance to his support of the would-be dictator in Honduras and his on-going lovefest with Hugo Chavez, Daniel Ortega and Fidel Castro, we have never had an American President whose fidelity to freedom and liberty is so questionable. His desire to be admired by the world's biggest cretins is much stronger than his love of his own country. It should come as no surprise that he is out to overturn institutions of long-standing in the United States as he belittles us abroad and consorts with anti-Americans and anti-capitalists. Today's speech needs to be kept on speed dial for 2012 so we can remind ourselves what this man thinks of the United States and its allies.

Can John Stossel Save American Journalism?

Recently, ABC investigative reporter John Stossel announced that he is heading to Fox News in October. Stossel is a rarity in mainstream journalism today: he is a true investigator. Whereas most reporters are Leftists who use the airwaves or newsprint, Stossel is a reporter who is grounded in American principles and willing to expose corruption and dishonesty wherever he finds it. He is an unabashed Libertarian whose world view is shaped by a belief in maximized liberty for all people.

In fact, Stossel will probably anger some who are more Republican than Conservative when he brings his brand of investigative reporting to Fox. He is not concerned with stepping on toes. Stossel is a journalist, but his principle-based reporting can play a positive role for Conservatives by reminding them of their core beliefs when their political leaders veer off course.

Stossel followed up his original announcement on Townhall.com today with a column that focused on the disintegration of legitimate reporting in the mainstream media.

When I announced last week that I was leaving ABC for Fox, some readers complained about my "bias." I replied: "Every reporter has political beliefs. The difference is that I am upfront about mine."

Look at today's burning issue: President Obama's pledge to redesign 15 percent of the economy. Virtually every reporter calls his health care plan "reform." But dictionaries define reform as "improvement." So before they present any evidence, reporters pronounce Obama's plan an improvement. Isn't that bias?

The New York Times took its bias to an absurd length. Its page-one story on the big anti-big-government rally in Washington, D.C., referred to "protests that began with an opposition to health care. ..."

Apparently, in the Times reporter's and editors' view, opponents of the Obama health care plan oppose health care itself. (The online article was later changed.

Economic-policy reporters usually present the views of supporters of new regulations as objective and public-spirited. For a contrary view, at best they'll ask a Republican or a representative of the regulated business, who is portrayed as self-serving. (Republicans tend to offer a watered-down version of the Democrats' proposals.)

A recent Bloomberg report on President Obama's plans to rewrite financial regulations is typical: "Obama has proposed new regulations overseeing the systemic risk posed by large financial institutions." The reporter quoted White House economic adviser Lawrence Summers in support of the plan. Although there are plenty of reasons to doubt that regulators are competent at judging systemic risk, no skeptical economist was quoted. Readers are led to believe the program is perfectly feasible.

Most reporting on the "stimulus" package has the same flaw. Just to call it "stimulus" is to editorialize, since the idea that government spending can truly stimulate an economy is at best doubtful. Many good economists say it can't be done. After all, the money is taken from somewhere else. But the economists rarely are quoted.

I'm looking forward to John Stossel's new career on Fox. While I sometimes find the typical Libertarian's view on foreign policy unsatisfactory for a dangerous 21st century world, their domestic agenda is much closer to the Founders' vision than the GOP and light years closer than the Democrats. Fox is a good home for a true Patriot like Stossel.

Support Government-Run Health Care Or You Will Be Punished!

At the behest of the loneliest guy in Washington, Democrat Senator Max Baucus, the Department of Health and Human Services is ordering an investigation of insurance provider Humana. Humana informed its customers that the so-called health reform bills floating around the Kremlin on the Potomac could have a negative impact on Medicare services down the road. The Baucus plan cuts Medicare by $500 billion dollars over the next decade. Gee, how could anyone possibly conclude a $500 billion cut will have a negative impact?

Baucus' temper tantrum is truly chilling.

The Senate committee that Baucus chairs — Finance — will vote this week on a sweeping health care plan that he's proposed to expand coverage and try to control costs. It would cut Medicare and Medicaid spending by about $500 billion over 10 years, but Baucus says that would lead to greater efficiency, not reduced benefits.

"The health care reform bill we released ... strengthens Medicare and does not cut benefits," said Baucus. "From lower prescription drug costs, to free preventive care, to better treatment for chronic conditions, seniors have so much to gain from health reform — and I'm not going to let insurance company profits stand in the way of improving Medicare for seniors."

Dem-speak is a magical language. Abortion becomes reproductive health services. Illegal aliens are not really illegal aliens if we can pass a bill to make them legal. The government forcing people to pay for a service is not a tax. A $500 billion cut is an increase in services. Orwell would be proud.

The political double-talk is not surprising. However, the heavy-handed manner in which Democrats have attacked all dissent in recent months is somewhat alarming. Remember President Obama's flag@whitehouse.gov for reporting those who actually read the health care bills and reported what they read? Or the President using the bully pulpit of a speech in front of a joint session of Congress to accuse those who dispute his numbers, assertions, and wisdom of dishonesty and telling the country he will not put up with it? Now, an insurance company is under federal investigation for informing its customers that Beltway Democrats are cooking up a plan that will have a negative impact on them.

It may be time to finally retire the unfair term "McCarthyism" and replace it with a more apt term for intolerance of political dissent: "Obamaism." It is increasingly clear that this White House and the Democrat leadership believe an election win trumps the Constitution. Humana has every right to advocate for the health care reforms that they believe will be most appropriate. They are under no obligation to accept this administration's fairy tale machinations.

Health care in America could use some common sense, free market reforms, but is hardly in a crisis. However, every day that passes brings another piece of evidence that freedom of speech is in grave danger in 21st century America.

The 9-12 March Was Not A GOP Lovefest

In the week following the 9-12 march on Washington, D.C., Big Media and frightened Leftists have tried to marginalize the outpouring of genuine patriotic concern as being a partisan, corporate-driven event. After spending over six hours in D.C. that day and covering a lot of ground, I did not see even one sign that was overtly pro-Republican. However, I did see quite a few that made it clear that Real America is just as unhappy with Republicans who have fostered the growth of the federal leviathan. This sign is a great example:

Leftists and Big Media are currently working overtime to develop the notion that the 9-12 March was all about President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama's race. They choose to ignore that Conservatives have been frustrated with big government Republicans for years. When the GOP held the White House and Congress, they grew government. There were some attempts to reform and reduce segments of the federal government, but the party cowered at the sophomoric Democrat defenses. The party paid a heavy price in 2006 and 2008. Many Conservatives voted third party or stayed home. Independents and moderate Democrats who had helped put the Republicans in power decided to give the Democrats a shot. The GOP must take much of the blame for our current state because they first drifted from principle and that drift then gave an ever more radical Democrat party control of the keys of government.

The people who have protested at local Tea Parties, become citizen activists, spoke out at town hall meetings and converged in front of the Kremlin on the Potomac are not uninformed dupes (unlike those who get their "truth" from Katie, Brian, and Charlie). These are not brain-dead cheerleaders. They have a fundamental understanding of freedom and liberty. They know both parties have contributed to our precarious state. They know that "We The People" must hold all their feet to the fire if we are to return our country to the values and ideals that made it great.

Tea Party Patriots are not blindly-loyal Republicans. However, I think most understand that the Democrat Party is now a radical Leftist party that has no grounding in American values. The Republican Party has some connection to conservatism and a general respect for the Constitution. Most realize that "taking back America" first means taking back the Republican Party.

The frustration with the GOP's willingness to acquiesce to Leftist Democrats and make deals has many Conservatives ready to pursue third parties. I think most are realistic enough to know that a third party move will only help the Leftists, but the dissatisfaction with both major parties is real and growing. Tea Party Patriots will not support liberal Republicans. Keep an eye on Florida where Governor Charlie Crist assumed his nomination for the U.S. Senate to be a coronation, but is being thumped by Marco Rubio among the GOP base. Crist is a phony Republican in the Arlen Specter tradition. He is the candidate for Republican insiders who, again, are why we watching President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Majority Leader Reid shove a Marxist agenda down America's throat.

Around the country, Real America is fighting back hard against the Left's intrusions and usurpations. But, remember, a Republican is not automatically a big improvement over a Democrat. Grass roots activists and Real Americans must remind the GOP of its Conservative base and that compromises with tyranny still march us in that direction. Bipartisanship is not a goal to cherish. Principled partisanship is the only hope for restoring the free market and individual liberty as America's bedrocks.

News Busters reports on Matthews' complaints about the "right wing crap" on the best seller list. Sounds like sour grapes, as Leftist books normally do not approach best-seller status. Of course, much of their constituency is illiterate or more likely to watch "Entertainment Tonight" than read a book.

Rather than dismiss books by folks like Mark Levin, Bill O'Reilly, or Michelle Malkin as "crap," why doesn't Chrissy bring them on his low-rated cable access program and dismantle their assertions? Since he is obviously their intellectual superior, he should bring them on "Hardball" and embarrass them. It is time for Chris Matthews to assert his domination over these Conservative thinkers.

The solution is simple: Chris Matthews should invite Mark Levin to participate in a one-hour debate during "Hardball." This will allow Matthews an opportunity to refute Levin's ideas in "Liberty and Tyranny" (and maybe even "Men in Black," since I'm sure the intellectual giant Chrissy would make short work of Levin). In addition, for one night MSNBC might actually draw a respectable audience.

How about it, Chrissy Matthews? After you demonstrate the power of Leftist ideology in squashing Conservative principles, the "right wing crap" will hold less interest. Come on, Tiger! Go get 'em!

Cap-and-Trade To Cost Average Tax Payer Nearly $2,000

President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama has this habit of claiming that all of his magic bean projects will save humanity at no cost to the overwhelming majority of tax payers. Of course, that doesn't mean his cadre of advisers are not aware of reality. Declan McCullagh reported on the CBS blog that internal memos show that the cap-and-trade bill being debated in Congress will create a very significant tax increase on every American family.

A previously unreleased analysis prepared by the U.S. Department of Treasury says the total in new taxes would be between $100 billion to $200 billion a year. At the upper end of the administration's estimate, the cost per American household would be an extra $1,761 a year.

A second memorandum, which was prepared for Obama's transition team after the
November election, says this about climate change policies: "Economic costs will likely be on the order of 1 percent of GDP, making them equal in scale to all existing environmental regulation."

The documents (PDF) were obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by the free-market Competitive Enterprise Institute and released on Tuesday.

So, the White House's numbers project nearly $1,800 a year in new taxes for each household. Given that government estimates are never even close to accurate, this has to scare anyone who isn't a extreme environmental wacko.

Cap-and-Trade barely passed the House and will have big trouble getting through the Senate. Public outcry after the House vote makes it unlikely a conference bill can be successful. Washington, D.C. Sees The Biggest Tea Party Yet!

How many Real Americans crowded into Washington, D.C on Saturday, September 12? You have some media outlets reporting the turnout as thousands while other estimates have been as high as 1.5-2 million. My wife and I arrived after the march was already underway and we folded into the crowd working its way up Pennsylvania Avenue. I have been at sporting events with crowds that approached 100,000 and I can guarantee you the 9-12 protest was far bigger. Honestly, I don't have a concept of 1.5 million people in one place. However, I would estimate that Saturday's crowd was no less than 500,000.

Over the next several days, I will be posting some pictures of the event. The whole day was surreal. The frustration many of us feel when we see so many folks who have either swallowed the Leftist Kool-aid or who are blithefully ignorant of everything happening around them turned to euphoria while marching with and milling around among hundreds of thousands of like-minded Patriots. The mix of people was incredible. From old to young. Men and women (actually, I think I saw more women). The number of ethnic minorities would have shocked Big Media if they had paid attention.

My wife and I rode in on the Metro from northern Virginia with a couple from California. They were concerned that their state is rapidly becoming the People's Republik of Kalifornia. These folks were in an agricultural business and had been hit hard by the combination of oppressive regulations from both the state and federal governments. They had to be in D.C. for this event.

The multitude of signs we observed ran the gamut of political ideas. One thing I did not see all day was a sign that specifically hyped the Republican Party. These are people who are fed up with abusive government and do not care if the offenders are Democrats or Republicans. The overarching theme was limited government and individual liberty. The consensus from the overwhelming throng was "enough!"

Whatever the official attendance turns out to be, the numbers demonstrate the power of the New Media and the growing irrelevancy of Big Media (i.e., the mainstream media or dinosaur media). The major networks, most cable news channels, and major newspapers ignored the approach of the 9-12 event. What mentions did happen, made it appear to be no different than a small town Tea Party. Real Americans are seeking others who share their passion for liberty and through local Tea Parties, the conservative blogosphere, and talk radio word spread about the event. Even on talk radio (and I haven't listened as much in the last month since school started back), I didn't hear a tremendous amount of coverage about the march. I think everyone was shocked by the turnout.

The September 12 protest was not an end, but another notch on the timeline that has Real Americans working to march the country toward the tried and true principles on which this nation was founded. Some states have legislative elections this November (including Virginia which has an important governor's race). Congress and President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama still hope to ram nationalized health care and cap-and-tax legislation down America;s throat before the year is out. In many states, primary races are already underway for 2010 House and Senate races. It is vital that we stay engaged. Regular folks are exhibiting an extraordinary desire for liberty can take this country back from the many decades of government encroachment. We will be victorious!

Message to Joe Wilson: Do Not Apologize to Those Sewer Rats!

It seems Amerika's Den of Thieves (aka the House Democrats) are poised to try to force South Carolina congressman Joe Wilson to grovel at their feet after his accurate shout of "you lie" at President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama during his health care speech. They want to make an example out of Wilson for daring to challenge the honesty of Dear Leader in a public forum. After all, only Democrats can call a President a liar.

I think I can speak for Real America when I say: "Tell Nancy Pelosi, Bahney Fwank, Charlie "Tax Cheat" Rangel, and the rest of those cretinous villains to pound sand! You apologized to President Obama, which was appropriate. You don't owe these vermin jack squat."

Fellow South Carolina Congressman James Clyburn is demanding a formal apology. Oh really? This is the same sleazy ward boss who tosses around the word racist like a teenage girls says "like." Earlier this year, Clyburn accused those who opposed Obama's "stimulus" package of being "racists." Where is his apology?

If I had ten minutes to brainstorm, I could give you dozens of congressional Democrats who have accused political opponents of the most vile crimes and intents. Do they ever apologize? Not on your life.

At first, I agreed with those who believed Joe Wilson was right, but that the action was inappropriate. The Office of the Presidency belongs to all the people of the United States and we should respect the office even if the current occupant is an extreme Leftist thug. However, that respect cuts both ways. Obama accused his political opponents of lying time and time again during the speech. He used the bully pulpit of the U.S. Presidency to present a distorted and dishonest plan that will result in the government takeover of the American health care industry. If Wilson insulted the chief executive's office, so did the chief executive.

However, a conversation with a teaching colleague the next day totally cleared any thought that Wilson acted inappropriately. This teacher brought up the speech and the outburst and went on a diatribe about civility. I told him my belief that Wilson and Obama both behaved wrongly. This made him froth at the mouth. You see, Obama didn't actually use the word "liar" (of course, neither did Wilson). Obama's actions were OK because he said people spread lies, told tall tales, and broadcast misinformation. He didn't name any names. And, of course, Obama was right that all those "right wingers" are lying. Therefore, Obama was as pure as snow. There it was. The typical Leftist double-standard. This person only sees incivility in those who respect the rule of law and who want to preserve individual liberty. Those who wish to replace the Constitution and American values with socialism and Leftist ideologies can say whatever they damn well please.

Which brings me to now: "Tell Pelosi, Hoyer, Conyers, Clyburn and the rest to shut their pie holes. You'll apologize when Bahney Fwank completes an intelligible sentence. In other words, never."

A brief departure from the political wars:

If you live in southwest or central Virginia, you have to see the Big Lick Conspiracy Comedy Improv Troupe in action. They start their 2009-2010 season this Saturday night with an 8:00 show at the Jefferson Center in downtown Roanoke. My wife and I (and our son on a couple occasions) have caught several of their shows over the last two years and have thoroughly enjoyed every one.

These folks may not be performing under the bright lights of the big city, but they are a highly entertaining group of comedians. Improv is an incredibly difficult form of entertainment. Taking suggestions from the audience (some before the show and some during) and turning those disjointed ideas into rib-splitting humor is a rare skill. Save the $9 you would spend at the super-mega-gi-normous movie-plex and buy a ticket for the Big Lick Conspiracy. You will not be disappointed.

Joe Wilson Apologizes To Barack Obama; Will Obama Apologize To Republicans?

Since the end of Dear Leader's public regurgitation earlier this evening, Big Media has been apoplectic over South Carolina congressman Joe Wilson shouting "liar" when Obama claimed illegal aliens will not be covered under his health care takeover scheme. In fact, Wilson already called the White House and apologized for his actions. Wilson's moment may have violated some form of decorum, but when the most powerful individual in America spins a series of rehashed yarns that bear little resemblance to the truth, it is easy to understand the frustration of a patriotic American.

However, Wilson's outburst and later apology brings up another question: will President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama apologize to the Republican party and Real America? On numerous occasions during the droning speech, Obama accused Republicans and Conservatives across America of lying about the health care proposals in Congress. He, in fact, misrepresented their arguments time and again in his dishonest oration.

B. Hussein Obama bleats on about wanting bipartisanship and to work together, but the community agitator could not resist delivering the most partisan address I have ever seen from an American president. It was disgraceful and beneath the dignity of the office. Obama owes Real America an apology for refusing to honestly discuss their objections to his nationalized health care scheme and accusing them of dishonesty. Joe Wilson was man enough to apologize. Why Is There A 9/12 Tea Party March on Washington?

Why are patriotic Americans of all races, all parties, all religions, and all regions of the country coming to Washington, D.C. to march on Saturday, September 12? Here is a small hint:

No, this march isn't about John Conyers. He is simply an incompetent old clown, but his idiotic comments about congressmen reading bills symbolize the myriad problems infecting the federal government. Here is a group of people who wield immense power, most of which is illegitimate. Yet, they laugh in the faces of the American people over the notion that they should actually know what is in the bills they pass. No lawyer should be necessary to understand legislation that will impact all Americans (Conyers has a J.D. degree, but I'm guessing he didn't finish near the top of his class). If a congressman lacks the competence to do his job, he should be dishing up snow cones at the carnival.

This arrogance and abusive attitude is "business as usual" inside the Beltway. One thing that has struck me in the Tea Party protests I have attended is the variety of complaints people bring to the events. Some are upset about excessive taxation. Some are concerned about the growth of federal regulation and control. Some are worried about government takeovers of industries, especially the threats being made toward the health care industry. Some focus on the on-going assault on the family and America's social fabric. Many see through Statist calls for "energy independence" as the anti-energy, anti-freedom, anti-progress non-sense that they really are.

It would also be surprising to Big Media and Leftist Democrats who demonize and ridicule Tea Party protesters that these "angry mobs" aren't much happier with Republicans than they are with Democrats. Whereas Democrats used GOP excesses in spending and government growth to obtain the keys to spend even more, grow even more, and tax much more, these proud Patriots put America first and do not care if the violators are Democrats or Republicans. In some ways, I think protesters are angrier with the GOP because it was their incompetence and rejection of principle that facilitated the Democrat comeback in 2006 and 2008. We know the Democrat party has lurched hopelessly to the Left, but we expect more from Republicans.

This Saturday, September 12, Real America will descend on the one city with more phonies than Hollywood. These folks will be there not because of things they hate, but because of the things they love. They fundamentally understand that the liberty many Americans hold dear is in grave danger. There will be a Fair Tax contingent, a Citizens Against Government Waste faction, and folks chanting "drill here, drill now, pay less." All of the individual issues of concern to Real America come back to a love of individual liberty. The United States does not suffer from a lack of government. It does increasingly suffer from a loss of freedom. The people are finally saying, "we want out lives back." See you at Freedom Plaza on Saturday.

"O'Reilly Factor" Producer Nails Traitorous John Adams Project

The American Criminal Liberties Union has sunk to greater depths than ever. "The O'Reilly Factor" producer Dan Bank cornered one of the sleazy traitors who champion the despicably-named John Adams Project.

First, I'm glad this wicked witch feels threatened. By all rights, she and the other anti-American fools involved in this project should be facing a rope at the hands of the criminal justice system. In fact, rather than investigating brave CIA agents and others who have worked to defend America, Attorney General Eric Holder should be conducting a priority inquiry into the actions of these vile traitors. Too harsh? From Article III of the United States Constitution:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

In my book, showing pictures of CIA agents to terrorists and providing personal information about agents to America's enemies is treason. This garbage must stop. Folks certainly have every right to express opinions contrary to any government policy. However, there is no right to jeopardize the lives and safety of those trying to defend America in order to advance a political agenda.

This act of treason against America is sponsored by the American Criminal Liberties Union--a long-time, anti-American coven of radical lawyers. The ignorant woman caught on tape, Nina Ginsberg, is plainly a wild-eyed Leftist loon. This is apparent as she babbles incoherently about Dick Cheney "exposing" Valerie Plame's cover. This contemptible flake is proud that she is putting the lives of CIA agents and their families in danger.

John Adams was an American patriot. He did provide defense for British soldiers after the Boston Massacre in order to ensure they received a fair trial. John Adams did not, however, give British officials the addresses and descriptions of members of the Sons of Liberty. If these creeps want to work to destroy American security, they should at least adopt a more fitting name. The Benedict Arnold Project would be more appropriate.
