Cap-and-Trade To Cost Average Tax Payer Nearly $2,000
President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama has this habit of claiming that all of his magic bean projects will save humanity at no cost to the overwhelming majority of tax payers. Of course, that doesn't mean his cadre of advisers are not aware of reality. Declan McCullagh reported on the CBS blog that internal memos show that the cap-and-trade bill being debated in Congress will create a very significant tax increase on every American family.
So, the White House's numbers project nearly $1,800 a year in new taxes for each household. Given that government estimates are never even close to accurate, this has to scare anyone who isn't a extreme environmental wacko.
John Podesta and the Extreme Left Center for American Progress got their collective panties in a wad over the story. Declan McCullagh followed up his original story on the CBS blog.
Cap-and-Trade barely passed the House and will have big trouble getting through the Senate. Public outcry after the House vote makes it unlikely a conference bill can be successful. However, it is time to crank up the phone calls, letters, and emails once again. Cap-and-Trade is just another front of the Left's war on capitalism, prosperity and freedom.
A previously unreleased analysis prepared by the U.S. Department of Treasury says the total in new taxes would be between $100 billion to $200 billion a year. At the upper end of the administration's estimate, the cost per American household would be an extra $1,761 a year.
A second memorandum, which was prepared for Obama's transition team after the
November election, says this about climate change policies: "Economic costs will likely be on the order of 1 percent of GDP, making them equal in scale to all existing environmental regulation."
The documents (PDF) were obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by the free-market Competitive Enterprise Institute and released on Tuesday.

President Obama To Fund Offshore Drilling--For Brazil!
While President Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama waits for the fall to try to push his cap-and-tax energy bill through the Senate, the United States is set to lend $2 billion (as a start with more to come) to Brazil for off-shore oil exploration. That's right, the same administration that wants us to ride to work in cars that run on cotton candy and happy thoughts is willing to send billions to South America for oil discovery while he tells the American people to pound sand.
The Drill Brazil deal demonstrates the phony nature of the "global warming/global climate change" nonsense. First, if the Democrats are so concerned about the "menace" of "global climate change" then why are they sending billions to South America to discover and produce even more evil of the fossil fuels that are destroying Mother Earth? On the other hand, if Brazil drilling for oil will not cause the planet to explode why not allow private American companies develop the rich resources below the ocean's floor off the American coastline? Is there something about American-produced oil that is inherently more evil than oil pumped by Brazilians?
When the cap-and-tax debate re-ignites this fall, remember President Obama is paying for foreigners to develop their natural resources while he wants you using the bike path.

Bill O'Reilly Defends Barbara Boxer and Proves He Doesn't Understand Liberal Racism
Bill O'Reilly interviewed Harry Alford on "The O'Reilly Factor" and Bill again showed why he is on the margins of the Conservative movement. He just doesn't get it. He actually defended Kalifornia Senator Barbara Boxer's racist confrontation with Mr. Alford during a Senate committee hearing. O'Reilly said Boxer didn't intentionally insert race. He is probably right, but that is the problem. Racism is so endemic to Liberal-Leftist-Progressive-Socialist thought that they have absolutely no self-awareness.
Just like a child who is brought up by bigots to dislike people because of their race, Leftists are raised and nurtured on the notion of inherent differences between people. They develop a paternalistic notion that "those people" cannot function without the help of so-called "liberals." They are sub-citizens who must always be defined with an asterisk and managed as a group rather than treated as individuals.
That is why Boxer, as empty a head as exists in the Senate, was genuinely shocked that Harry Alford was indignant at her belittling of the Black Chamber of Commerce's climate change position. The BCC has been involved in studies of the issue for over a decade and has built a position based on scientific data. Boxer confronted a Black professional group's data analysis with a resolution of the NAACP, which is a partisan political organization. She could have dug up a different professional group's stance, but that never occurred to her. This was a Black group, so they must be countered with a Black group.
This should also be a message to the Republican losers who are constantly looking for a way to pander to Blacks or single women or Hispanics or homosexuals. DON'T DO IT! Democrats own the copyright on identity politics, so it is futile to compete. Besides, it is degrading to those who are members of those groups, but who actually see themselves as distinct individuals.
The media and racist Democrats have pulled the same non-sense with the Sonia Sotomayor nomination. "Republicans risk alienating Hispanics." "Republicans have a Hispanic problem." "Oppose her at your own risk." None of that has anything to do with deciphering whether or not she will be lying when she promises to uphold the Constitution. The opposition to Sotomayor had nothing to do with ethnicity; it was mostly about her own words and decisions standing in opposition to the Constitution and the role of the federal courts.
Leftists in the media and the Democrat party do not give one hoot about Hispanics (or any other minority) as individuals. They do revel in their ability to exploit race and ethnicity for political and ideological gain. When President Bush appointed Miguel Estrada to the D.C. Appellate Court, Democrats fought tooth and nail to defeat his nomination. In fact, they attacked his ethnicity calling him "unauthentic." Did the up-with-people media come to Estrada's defense and attack the Democrat filibuster? Did they accuse Democrats of denying an opportunity to an accomplished Hispanic man? Yeah, right!
Conservatives need to get their message out to people in these demographics. High taxes, intrusive government, heavy regulation, federal power grabs and creeping Big Brotherism is a threat to Americans regardless of race, gender or sexual preference. The Alford incident should be used to expose the racial superiority that under girds the politics of many White Liberal-Leftist-Progressive-Socialists.

Roanoke Independence Day Tea Party--Be Heard (Or At Least Seen)
Check the Roanoke Tea Party site for the latest on Saturday's rally in Elmwood Park in Roanoke, Virginia. Constituents of the 5th and 9th district should especially show their displeasure with Representatives Tom Perriello and Rick Boucher for selling out their futures to Leftwing special interests in the Waxman-Markey Cap-and-Trade bill. If it does pass the Senate, Cap-and-Trade will have to again go through the House as a conference bill. Let Perriello and Boucher know they need to reconsider supporting the biggest tax increase in American history.

Obama Wants California To Be The Model For America; Bill Belichek Adopts Detroit Lions Defense
Every day, the same question pops into my head. Is Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama really this stupid or is he just convinced that the American sheeple are this stupid? The People's Republik of Kalifornia is hemorraghing jobs, losing population (outside of illegal immigrants), crushing its people with taxes and regulations and Obama holds the state up as the example the rest of the country should follow. Kalifornia and its incompetent governator do not have the money to run their government. Last night, they shut down discussions on an emergency plan to keep the state afloat. Bernie Madoff Goes To Jail; Now Let's Get The Real Crooks
Bernie Madoff is off to jail for 150 years (give or take) and deservedly so. He is a liar and a swindler who stole massive amounts of money from trusting people. He told them one thing would be done with the money while instead it was appropriated for other uses. The public outcry was deafening and he has no defenders.
Why doesn't the country apply the same outrage en masse to the Bolsheviks in the Kremlin on the Potomac? The Madoff sentencing came three days after the House approved a multi-trillion dollar "Cap-and-Trade" bill that will add thousands per year to the energy costs of every American. Every product and service that requires energy will endure greater costs, so those businesses will be forced to raise their prices. A 1,200 page bill that no one read with an additional 300 pages dropped in at 3:00am the day of the vote. While reading this post you are committing a criminal act: breathing. As their leader Barry Vladimir Hussein Soetero Obama said of the bill, they are going after the polluters. Never mind that the air and water are much cleaner than 40 years ago and that American industry has done a lot to cut down on pollutants, Der Fuhrer is declaring war on polluters. You know, truck drivers, farmers, factories, etc. Now do you get why American factories often relocate overseas? Individual costs will soar and jobs will disappear.
It is time for the American sheeple to get over their collective case of recto-cranial inversion. Why would anyone be personally angry at Bernie Madoff unless they were one of the investors? Whether you want to or not, your are now on the hook for banks and car companies. You are responsible for over a trillion dollars worth of stimulus that is nothing but special-interest pork. Your personal energy costs will soar. Your ability to sell your house will be greatly compromised. These special interest puppets have driven more nails into the future of American industry and will send more jobs overseas. Soon, they will take your health care decisions away from you and your doctor and give them to a government oversight board. Bernie Madoff is a crook, Michael Jackson was weird, Kate Gosselin is an uber-witch and Mark Sanford is a hillbilly horndog, but none of them are going to raise your taxes or impact your standard of living. Huddled together in the U.S. Capitol are people who are working to sell you out for their temporary political and personal gain. Time to get a little angry out in Flyover Country.
